i was bloody there. Great show indeed. The finale with Highland Laddie and the Black Bear is breath-taking and it is great to see in the bands so many people who worked for us later on, since 1993 (all the Gordons, the QOHs, Stevie Small, Gordon Walker, Gavin Stoddard, the RHFs). Only the Scots Guards are missing but it is the Scottish Division so...Splendid music and drill!

The allied regiments of the Commonwealth were pleased to be asked to contribute also. I was one of six Calgary Highlanders to march with the Argylls, and there were many Canadians, New Zealanders, Australians, Malaysians and Gurkhas on parade as well.

Thanks for posting this. I was performing on the day and watched it today 30 years after the event. It was great to see some old faces, some no longer with us and realise how many of the tunes I can still play!

So thanks to you for giving a lot of joy to an audience that included myself. Musically and in fact from all points of view it was a wondrous show, and one that I have never really forgotten through to this day. Not going to harp on nostalgically or say anything about the changes we have had since then. It was great then and it is great to watch and listen again now. The very best to you!

Great to see this, after all these years, myself an my mate the gripper did the Dias Guard for this,Keepers of the Ground was the title they give us,but what a sight watching that march towards us,proudest 3 days of my life, then of course doing it again in Glasgow an Edinburgh, and it would be my second time meeting the Queen Mother,we was marched of after all the bands left,Banqueting House where all the Regiments and affiliated regiments was to line the stairs,a great day,an then back to the spiders in Pirbright Camp the Naffi and beer, brilliant.

This is a great video. The last time The massed bands of the Scottish division would Beat Retreat on Horse Guards. Unfortunately this is not the complete bandleader video but it shows a lot. The first display of the pipes & Drums Beating Retreat is missing.

Got it thanks. With the pandemic all around us you have to wonder, how long it will be before we see more parades like this.

Anyone knows the title of the march they play at 18:30? I replayed this footage like a million of times but could not understand what the speaker is saying. (BTW In my old tune records I have the next march as "Tow of Ben Lomond", "Top of Ben Lomond" ... anyone to clarify? ) TIA
