Here is a song about another wanderer who comes home to prove once again that "East, West, hame's best".

Reminds me of when we left Scotland. When i returned for a visit a few times, i think of this song. All the relatives come out to greet you. I miss the land of my birth.

I have lived in America for most of my life. I do love the country i live in, that welcomed my family in. It is beautiful. I also love the country, where i was born. I always get a lump in my throat, for the land of my birth.

I am going back soon, for the last time. It is such a beautiful country. Many memories of my childhood. I love this song. My people are going to greet me. That will be lovely.

These ARE MY Mountains, and this is my Glen, the Braes of my childhood WILL known me again. I listen to this all the time and I picture me there. The fresh air cold temperatures. I was always climbing the mountains in Ardintinny and drinking the cold water that was coming down the mountain from the snow and ice. So I have a part of Scotland in my system. That’s why I never get sick or get a cold, flu. My ancestors survived the bubonic plague. Must have RH- blood. I’m sure both will kill me. But I want to return back to Dunoon, Argyle,Scotland. To live the rest of my life. So when the time come I can be Buried in the Kilmon, graveyard. With my Mum,Nana,Papa. So my sole can walk the Highlands forever.

If anyone is interested in who sang this, it's actor, Kevin McKidd for a charity album called The Speyside Session. You can buy it on iTunes or stream it on Spotify.

I am regularly up the mountains in southern Spain , and there are many beautiful views and I love it ...But as nice as they are ...you can’t beat Scotland, this reminds me of songs that were sung every new year/ party when I was a wee boy and I remember clearly the pride of being Scottish ...It is a Spanish working people town I live in ,and the people are probably the best ...Second to the Scottish of course ;-) people I ve had the pleasure of knowing ...Mountains on our doorstep and it’s a family affair regularly ...One thing that’s DEfinately better in Spain ...” There are NO feckin midges “ .... Still look forward to going hill walking in Scotland....never beat it ...love this version !

I've heard this song, literally thousands of times, and this is the best I've ever heard. If yer no greetin by the end then you've no business listening in the first place.

Though I’ve never been to Scotland, it’s part of my heritage. I sure am glad there are music videos from Scotland with the BEAUTIFUL SCENERY 🏴👏🏻🥰‼️

Her family came right after the 45. My family came in 1900. Pure Scots both. We found each other 60 + years ago deep in the back country of the Balsam Mtns of Western NC. We wandered all over the states. Our daughters and I laid her to rest in her glen up in the Smokeys. No tears, she was home.

I got quite teary eyed listening to that. My dear ol dad used to play that tune on the pipes. He died here in New Zealand & never got to go back home, so sad.

"For these are my mountains, and this is my glen"

This guy’s voice sounds a lot like American country music singer John Berry, except for the Scottish accent 🏴. Anyone know who he is? He’s great and so’s the music and video 👏🏻😻🥰‼️

Why did this make me cry? 🥺 I’m not even from Scotland but I’m half Scottish and half British (Ik that means nothing) but I’ve always seen Scotland as a home I’ve never been too or see irl. It makes me so happy 🙃
