I mean, new build is always the route to go because you get a brand new home. The downside to most new builds right now though are their location. Very few are central, and the ones that are have crazy prices. But if you had a 2024 home and a 2005 home down the street at the same price, I would always pick the 2024.

@@TrevorBragg-1 Appreciate the response. It’d be interesting to see how the housing market shifts in the next 3 years. With new construction offering better incentives, it is just a matter of time the existing home seller starts putting their house on market for a competitive price. Even though new construction quality might not be as great as 10 years ago, buying a 10 year house could always have something to fix and if you’re unfortunate enough, it could be major repairs like electrical/plumbing/roof/complete HVAC replacement.
