7 жыл бұрынDuring the late 1970s Compton's Westside Pirus inspired a new Piru set in Carson which eventually became the Scottsdale Pirus in the late 1970s or very early 1980s.
We met up with several SDP members in the Avalon Village section of Carson and learned about their community, their history and life in this section of Carson, California. OG Brian "Wounded B" Henderson talks about getting shot 9 time on Paradise Ave back in 1987.

I enjoyed watching the little homies and my little brother. But they should have talked to some real G's because I see they don't really know our history. Scottsdale became Piru in the 70's and we were never Mob, we were always Scottsdale Piru. Big Meechie, Bartender, Country, Turtle and Joey brought Piru'n to the Dale. I am 56 years old and I am from Scottsdale Piru and have been since 1975. Next time talk to some older G's if you want the real facts !!

I'm from Carson, everyone thinks that Carson is very nice. which in some parts it is, especially by Cal State Dominguez. But there are the Areas that are sketchy areas. ''Keystone'' off main street and Dominguez . ''Scottsdale'' Housing units off Avalon and Sepulveda . Some parts off ''Victoria Park'' by Avalon and Victoria.'' Realty st'' off Avalon and Sepulveda headin twoards Wilmas by the train tracks. And what used to be ''Night Crawlers'' but now is Cst or Swc , Main st and 234th st by Anchor Liquor. And some places in ''Scott Park'' Mostly where the alleys are.

I grew up in Scottsdale in the 70’s and 80’s. It was a lot of Samoans in the hood back then. I Remember names of some homies like Bubba, Watergate, Skooby, Spanky. I stayed at 3 union hill ln back then.

Carson is very beautiful. Carson is in the south bay. 2 of the worlds largest shipping ports are right next door. Both the Long Beach Port and the Port of Los Angeles are close by. Carson has major Japanese headquarters close by. I love all the young men and women from all the neighborhoods, no matter if they are active or not. I want to spread love to the masses of the beautiful people throughout the south bay. May God bless us with more jobs, affordable housing. Good peace and prosperity. I've been down with your channel for some years now, I live in Denver now and your channel has taught me a lot of what's going on back home, and the history of some of the sets and barrios I used to hear about in juvenile hall or the county jail back home. I don't see how someone whom is older would guide someones child into doing that. My Father, and most of the men in my family are from 111NHC, I am taking about OGs whom were banging tough during Ice Cube Lynch Mob days. #FreeJD. They are all older now, and though they aren't walking around with ski mask and gloves in their back pocket like they use to, they will show these new school kids how its done. Gangs have changed so much from what I remember. I see so many pretty boys with all their teeth in their mouth which tell me that there are more shooters than anything. And, listening to his story about how he ran, I can tell a lot about those under him. It just seem like gang banging was real in the 90s, now its seems to be something to do for a lot of these young men.

I have never been around a gang member of a former gang member because of the fear of what they might do and I hope and pray that I never get closed to one unless a have the lord in his life.
