Do not buy a honda with the 1.5 liter with a the turbo in cold weather driving. Engine is to small and can not get to operating temp in stop and go driving with the heater on max. You will end up oil dilution and water vapour from the engine in the crankcase. You know what happens in below freezing temperatures you end up with ice in the oil pan. I spent the day looking for a 2023 rav4 woodland edition. The car is essentially a base xle hybrid with trd tuned suspension and larger, more aggressive tire. Most dealerships I called didn’t even get an allocation. The ones that did after all the questions and back and forth, “oh by the way, there’s a 5000 markup”. I would respond with, “thanks for letting me know ,that way I can write it down and remember to never do business with you”. After 17 calls I finally found one, in the color that I wanted, and at msrp. Don’t pay these ridiculous, bogus prices.

@@richsweeney1115 1. I’ve owned many cars over the years. Only one has been in an accident, and another had hail damage which you couldn’t tell once it was fixed. To suggest every single car/most cars get in some sort of accident is crazy. 2. There are a minority of times where buying new can be an okay decision. If the prices are out of whack like they are now, you keep the vehicle for a long time/lots of mileage and take meticulous care of it, it can be worth it. It also allows you to avoid vehicles that have been abused. Mind you, this is coming from someone who only bought new one time (during a recession) and 3 years later I was offered more (including all the fees and taxes) than I paid for it (Tacoma). There were a couple other times where I really could have gone either way (new or used) and it would have been either a wash or maybe I would have paid a somewhat nominal amount for the piece of mind of a new car.

He probably did if he wanted a manual sport. Very niche car and you always overpay for niche. Dealers, just like any other business, are out to make money. They are not a charity. If someone is willing to pay $15k over sticker, then they will sell it for $15k over sticker. He could have gone to a chevy dealership. My guess is he wanted a Honda, so you pay what Honda wants. The wider you cast your net, the more likely you are not to get screwed.

I like my sunroof. I can open the sunroof and roll down all the windows and pretend it's convertible, without having to stop the car to put it back up. When the car has been parked in the hot sun, the sunroof makes it easier to vent the heat while waiting for the A/C to start cooling. In cool weather you can let the sun shine in without the cold wind.

I’ve done that. Feels fantastic. Keep a tube of copper grease and run it along the tracks. Keeps it smooth, lubricated, and it doesn’t tax the electric motor to move it opened & closed. I had a similar situation, early november, i totaled my 2015 civic so i needed a car. i originally was planning to get a used civic but the prices for them were ridiculous. i went to some local smaller dealerships and they had used ones for up to like 32k. they were had really high mileage for their years, like i found a 2022 civic with 39k. Long story short i went to a couple different honda dealerships to try and get a new one, most were in transit and already had people with deposits on them. and all the dealerships had market adjustments of 5,000 and dealer added accessories, which were “non negotiable”. i just walked out and said ok we’re good, across the street from one of the honda dealerships is a kia dealership. i decided why not just go see what they have, few hours later i walked out with a new 2023 kia forte gt for only 27k. i’ve had it for a few weeks and have zero regrets. Kia really upped their game.

Driving around in my naturally aspirated 1.5 liter Fit, I am amazed at how much HP they can squeeze out of the same engine that they pop a turbo on in the Civics. But I would really not feel good driving around that knowing the engine is getting that output by being strained by that turbo whipping it nonstop, basically the engine on a steady diet of energy drinks and amphetamines. There's a reason they do it. The built in screens are forced tl flow with the dash angle (more or less), they're also mounted lower than thhe vertical screens. Because of that you tend tk get a lot of glare on the screen that washes out the image, and you can't see anything. In the Civics case, enough people complained about the 10th gen Civics having constant glare, that Honda listened and raised the mounting location as well as increasing the angle to vertical. The screen is also closer to being inline with the sight line of the driver, rather than having to look down.

I bought the car for $3000 with about 114k miles and was recommended by the previous owner to change the rear suspension on it. I did the oil changes changed the rear suspension and it drove like a beauty without having many problems on it. About a week ago I was in an accident going about 50 miles an hour when some Florida driver failed to yield with with their flashing yellow left turn arrow and it caused heavy frontal damage and sent me flying off the road. I was fine with no scratches or anything besides very minor whiplash but the car was completely totaled with both airbags going off too. Insurance was quick and gave me about $4300 for my $3000 vehicle which I only had liability insurance on. With that being said I’ve been looking for vehicles and the markup on all vehicles are crazy! I’ve been considering getting the new mazda 3 since it has more horsepower and torque then the new civic, but the new mazda 3 barely has any interior space because all their interior stuff is bulky. I’ve found that a lot of dealerships have deals on their new cars to where it’s actually cheaper than getting a vehicle that’s like 4 years old which is ridiculous. I’m thinking of getting the civic 2023 since Honda has treated me well and I can get it for a good deal considering the economy of cars at the moment, but I also am concerned with the cvt transmission and with it being such a new vehicle I’m concerned with reliability. Anybody have any thoughts or advice for me?

I got a brand new civic sport in October 2021 for $24,100 with my choice of color, 0.9% financing and my dealer includes a lifetime mileage/warranty on the drivetrain. Good for the CVT (I'm still not sold on them). I had to wait for about a month to get it and if I wanted a standard the price went up alot. I do miss my manual though. Time for a second Civic.

The Toyota CVTs are super reliable, because they have an actual gear for first gear, which takes the worst of the beating until the car is moving.

I got my Civic Sport Touring with manual transmission for MSRP last Saturday! I did opt for a tire warranty though specifically because of the low profiles and past experience with local roads. Loving the car so far it is a blast to drive!

Oh Scotty.... The Civic Sport with the naturally aspirated port injection 2.0 k20 equipped with a 6spd manual, yes, that's right you can can get the base model with a manual transmission. This model car is BY FAR THE BEST most reliable car you can buy for under 30k that will last over 250k miles EASY if you properly maintain it. This combo ONLY comes in the hatchback model.
