Dealership Mark ups are crazy, I think scotty said before they don't even road test the car before and after fixing... They can't even do pre purchase inspections right, if they notice something is off they won't even tell the customer if it's a smaller job cause they don't make enough money from it... Smh stay tf away from dealerships and find a highly google reviewed mechanic in your area.

I’ve been telling my friends this too. It’s always better to get a car that’s 5 years older (usually used) than the current generation vehicle that’s out. Cars depreciate quick, so you can expect good savings by going for a somewhat recent car rather than pay for a fortune on a brand new one. Plus, dealerships scam people for extra profit

The issue is in many countries in the EU like Belgium for example, they charge you a CO2 tax based on the year of car production and engine size. I personally had to pay 1500euro first year and then 600 euros early in taxes to put my Toyota Paseo 96r. on the street. on top of that 1k euro insurance a year. The EU laws are killing what actually makes good recycling useful. My car almost never broke and parts are cheap as hell. Most people are pushed to run tiny 1.0 engine new cars there because of taxes.

When I had a 1982 Chevy Celebrity we had a problem with the fuel pump in the tank and when we fixed it we say those plastic breaking waves walls inside. Started out buying Toyota’s in my younger years. Had a Camry that the rear door hinges froze up on and Ripped away from frame. Toyota sent regional area manager to look at it . Said it was due to servicing the car myself. Had they serviced it they would have oiled them at each service and made sure they worked. Repair was going to be thousands. Told the guy if you don’t fix it I’ll never buy another Toyota. He said , if that’s what you gotta do. So never bought another Toyota! Screw them!

@Hector Guarneros salt not snow. No issues with the brake lines on my 06 Matrix. I’m in Canada. & it’s got a typical amount of mileage. If you rinse off the underbody regularly if you live in Ontario or Montreal, it should last a very long time. Rinse your cars people! Even If you don’t have a pressure washer or a garage when it’s below freezing to do it in, ask around to see who has a big garage & pressure washer, so that they can rinse off your car even in below-freezing temperatures. Works great. I live where salt is still an occurrence every winter.

@JoshS the Canadians make great cars. Japan is 1st place, & Canada is 2nd place for most reliably built cars. I have a built in Cambridge Ontario 2006 Matrix base silver. It’s an amazing car. The seats are insanely comfortable for a car that was $16K brand new. Today’s 2022 cars that cost $16K have seats that are absolutely horrible. I’ve seen those Matrixes with 700,000 kilometres & they still run fine. They are just a Corolla wagon. Exact same mechanical parts. Makes junkyard diving an absolute breeze, if I need a part. "it's bad enough pumping gas wait til it's electric"... gas pumps are electric, how else would they pump the gas from the ground into your car? You've also got the computer inside the pump connected to the gas station's local network including the POS system which requires a reliable connection. There are way more possible points of both electronic and mechanical failure at a gas station than a charging station
