Guys, chill with the "you HAVE to pick ____." We all love this team and want them to pick whoever's best for it, but I guarantee you, their professional scouts and coaches know 1000x more about these players than any of us do. They will pick who they think is right, and that may not be who you want. Keep in mind that these people are professionals for a reason, and personally, I trust them 100% to make the right choice. It doesn't matter how many google searches you've done of their stats, how many highlight videos you've watched of them on youtube, you don't know everything about these players. It's fun to play armchair GM (something I'm guilty of) and make speculations over what will happen, but in the end the choice rests with these guys, and we should have faith in them. Let's go Hawks

Well every organization has professionals but there is still busts that are drafted you should enjoy the hype if your a hawks fan for having a good pick even though I don’t want you guys to be really good again lol

Just because they’re professionals and we are not. Doesn’t make it less fun to talk about and debate. Within reason at least. Folks that go through and just spit on everyone’s ideas is awfully pathetic. I agree with you there. But those folks are more troubled than I could even imagine I bet. Dedicating their lives to trying to hurt as many peoples feelings as they can? Just sad to get joy from such a despicable venture. So sad. Gotta pity a fool wasting their life away.

I’d be happy with Turcotte or Byram, but after the Maatta trade it seems like Turcotte will be the pick

I think both Byram and Turcotte would be great choices. I lean towards Turcotte myself just because our defensive talent pool is so much deeper than our forward talent pool. Also Turcotte is mostly known for his two-way game which with our defense and up and coming offensive defensemen will be really valuable.

I think either Turcotte or Byram would work out fine. However, it is way more difficult (usually) to find star defenseman in free agency. Plus, the offense had some great production, and guys like Toews and Saad had redefining seasons. The defense was horrendous. You can never have too much defensive depth, so I believe the Hawks should go defense again in the first round this year and pick Byram.

For his level, Turcotte basically benefitted from being on an All-star team - endless rebounds, endless greasy goals. To Turcotte's credit, he took advantage, but in all the footage I viewed, I didn't see him "engineering" many goals. He'd be a decent pick, but Byram would still be better.

The 3rd overpick, the Chicago Blackhawks select Alex Turcotte. Man what a first round this is going to be I can't wait. And I'm not even a Blackhawks Fan

I would say that the Matta trade pretty much guarantees that they pass on Byram and get Turcotte or Cozens.

Has nothing to do with the draft. So no. Maatta doesn't stop them from getting byram. Just means other defensemen in the system like forsling, and/or dahlstrom are gone

Upriver Gaming the hawks still have to change their D. If they go in the season with adding just Maatta then the results are going to be kinda the same as last year. Keith is 35 & seabrook 34, they need a #1 D man.

Turcotte please, not because he's a local kid either. Dude is a flat out stud, he plays a fabulous two hundred foot game and the kid has a hell of a lot of offensive skill as well. Turcotte, Byam or Zegras for me.

I would select Byram Bowen. Why? a) He's physically mature enough to play in the NHL now; b) Though we have many system d-man prospects Bowen is rated by every single scout to be above them; c) As a defenseman, he'll play 22-26 minutes per game as opposed to a young forward's 14 to 16; d) In a manner of speaking, he is a defenseman AND a forward. Dach & Cozens are good, but they are not superior to Bowen in edging, speed, soft hands, lethal shot and general dekes, jukes, fakes and moves ... and you know he will either pinch or join a rush almost as often as the aforementioned forwards; e) He's the only prospect up for consideration that has been in fights. I'd give Dach & Cozens props for their size except for the fact that they never use it. I went through miles of footage and never once saw either of them hit anybody. So, we already have Perlini, Strome and Anisimov for that type of player. Is anyone beginning to convert? I know I changed my mind many times before these revelations hit me. And let me reiterate ... He ain't going to Russia. He ain't going to college. He's coming HERE!

I kind of like you, but cut the BS, Stan. You don't want to use your #3 Pick to select some potential-laden, but immature, slow-developing dude who will just start coming into his own after you've been fired. I prefer Byram, but Cozens and Dach would also help get you off the hot spot. I agree Turcotte will be good, but when? After he's done with his job at McDonalds? He looks like he's in grade school.

Kirby Dachs? The Av’s just got a massive gift from Stan Bowman. Byrum will be a #1 D and the Hawks still don’t have a true #1 D prospect. The Hawks will regret this.
@hockeyfan2726
@hockeyfan2726 5 жыл бұрын
Av's had the 4th overall pick, they would've have gotten a massive gift regardless of who Chicago drafted, just like regardless of Hughes and Kakko going 1st and 2nd, Chicago still got a great prospect, a huge gift, who many were projecting as the 3rd overall pick. Chicago has 4 great prospects on defense, now they have a great prospect at center as they don't have a true #2C at the moment, and in the future just as Cat can be the successor of Kane, Dach can be the successor of Toews, They also drafted another defensemen in Alex Vlasic who is very solid, seriously the only thing you're complaining about is they didn't pick who YOU wanted. You misspelled both players names by the way you dumb fuck.
