Damn Zeta-9 are a hardcore Taskforce He apologized for Henry’s death, said it was just the way of things. I broke his jaw in three places, Long-Wen may be the oldest-looking man I’ve ever seen, and with a will like iron. He just took everything we dished out, and didn’t say a word. Parks said that the next stop was his wife and grandkids, and that got him talking and of course The first guy, some Triad punk, didn’t want to talk. Two broken legs later, and he was a lot more open

This thing is kept out in the open, so that means the universe is its room. It keeps expanding the universe, and making entire galaxies out of the wrong materials.

That could make sense of why there are multiple scp-001's. The universe kept expanding and making new scps. Who knows how many universes there are made by this thing. What makes this even scarier is that... we might be one of the copies. Whose to say that our universe was the first?

Heres some fun ideas: 1. Eat it 2. Put it in SCP 682's containment chamber 3. Put it in a glass box 4. Put it inside an extremely small space ( Near-Microscopic ) 5. Put it inside SCP 173's chamber 6. put it inside a building then take it outside of the building and then put a hat onto it (Im running out of ideas) 7. Put it inside the center of the earth 8. Put it into a cardboard box and then revisit it 5,000 years later 9. Put it into a garbage bag 10. Look at SCP 096 and run as far as you can inside this thing. Edit: Sometimes I revisit this comment and re-read idea 4 and 6 and I cannot sleep for the next 3 days due to how terrible of ideas those are and I have no idea how this got so many likes.

Incredible Canemian AND creating new SCPS along with it. The Lovecraftian thing on the ship, the Ultrasharp carpet (Would be great if I was working on the MTF; Any waking based SCPs would step on quite the lego when they tried to advance/flee), and the reality distortions that take place around it.

So by securing 184 in the open, it took the entire galaxy as a closed environment and thus has been endlessly replicating the Milky Way, more and more messed up, never with life. The physical abnormalities also seem to be accompanied by memetic effects, driving people varying levels of insane. That explains the events on the spaceship. Now I'm just waiting to see why that one lady gave birth to a hellspawn. I'm getting a really strong Lovecraft feel, like this thing is an uncaring Heart of Chaos, infinitely flowing its vessel outward and outward, forever.

The Kowloon Walled City is actually one of the coolest places on Earth when you think about it...it was the most heavily populated place on Earth at one point. Just seeing how the people lived in there was fascinating. How the people just kept building upwards and adding apartment onto apartment was insane.

When I read this, I wondered what would happen if, instead of keeping it in the open, you put it in a tiny cardboard box, moved it outside of where the box could possibly be externally, and burned the box. Or even just left it in the box. If you kept that box in a containment facility, based on the description, it sounds like that wouldn't affect the facility, just the box. It would also make for much easier containment. We also know that it can affect things as simple as a cardboard box, because the entry explicitly mentions that possibility. That's why I like the "184 is the real 001" idea. If they tried that, and something terrible came out of the box, a new SCP, it would make sense to keep it in the open, even though it's a lot easier for someone to steal it. It would also make sense to wonder if the other horrors the foundation deals with came about in the same way. Based on the SCP-2000 entry, it's even possible that something like this triggered a K-class scenario in a prior iteration, since the facility has clearly been used before, and the foundation might still be clearing up the mess. It's fun headcanon either way.

Love how this was inspired by the actual Kowloon Walled City. By the time I was born that area was already in the process of being demolished. I've heard that a LOT of shady shit goes on in there, but the triad was able to create a system of governence and kept things in "control".

One thing I never got about the containment procedures is that it takes 1 hour for it to begin expanding a structure, sooo why not move it every 50 min from one structure to another, thus prevent any of them from ever expanding?

If SCP 184 is also responsible for the creation of alternate galaxies, this would suggest that the SCP universe takes place within a box with enclosed walls. Like SCP 1762, the entire SCP universe could simply be an analogy to the horror stories that filled our imaginations as children. These horror tales of beasts and monsters eventually mutated into the adult fears of death, bankruptcy, failure and loneliness. SCP 184 is adulthood... The childish horrors of our imaginations never left us. They simply mutated into different forms

I started reading the SCPs starting from 001 up to about 190 over the last few months, and 184 was just a brilliant piece of writing. Every facet of it, the way it explains what the object does at the beginning in a simple but strange way that we can understand, what happens when it expands for too long. And then takes that concept, allows you time to forget about it in these logs as it explains a very interesting story of going beyond what's visible using our existing telescopes into these bizarre copy galaxies that you either pick up immediately or near the end that SCP-184 is creating all of them as it considers the galaxy or universe itself to be a container. This can simultaneously explain the bizarre nature of other SCPs as well, as it can be assumed they all come from some twisted form of 184's copies. It brings everything back around and does it effortlessly. This is a brilliant little piece of writing and I hope to see more from whoever the author of it was, because damn. This one was a joy to read through.
