SCP 6011 is a Safe Class anomaly also known as Flat Earth.
SCP-6011 is a circular area located in the Central Sahara Desert with a radius of roughly 500 m suspended 5 cm in the air. The area is situated 156 m below the ground within limestone karst in which it was originally discovered.
SCP6011 has no width and behaves like a 2-dimensional plane; 3-dimensional objects pass through with no resistance.

I really like this SCP. it's not dangerous in any way and it doesn't really do much if anything outside of its own bubble. but it does get you thinking and maybe gets you to take a step back and try seeing things from a new perspective

Quite literally from a new perspective as well! One thing I wonder is how we can't *begin* to imagine our 3-dimensional-based vision adjusting to their 2-dimensional existence, let alone being born into it as they have. But I'm very glad that they chose the right Plana Hominem to interview, he's quite cooperative and reasonable. I can only imagine how things would have gone had they gone to the monarchy who very well may not have been as understanding nor level-headed..

@@chimneyLAX I read flatland many years ago, so I can't really recall. But to my memory, it was pretty much that the more sides a shape had, the smarter is was supposed to be. There was also something about the angle that any of the triangle shapes have being a sign of intelligence. In general, it sounded similar to this video - people would be born into classes. In this case though, the class you were born into was determined by what shape you were.

I'm curious about whether the foundation has attempted to contact their 2D counterparts, and what the interactions were/would be if they did. Does the little foundation have to deal with anomalies other than 3D objects entering their world? Also, could you order a 2D drink from the vending machine SCP, or whatever it was? How about a 4D drink? Dang, this SCP brought up so many interesting questions. That's really cool.

I love the concept behind this. This kind of concept is SUPER SUPER interesting and although already exists, eg. Flatland, I still absolutely love and definitely didnt expect to see it in the SCP universe. It's super nerdy and I'm here for it.

Check out Rudy Rucker's writing, if you like Flatland. "Geometry, Relativity, and the Fourth Dimension" is a perfect companion/expansion piece for Flatland. He's written many other interesting books as well, but I'd start with that first one.

But theres also those that made many videos, like Professor Dave Explains. But most interesting: Theres channels like Sci Man Dan and FTFE and Wolfie6020 who SPECIALIZE on debunking conspiracys and especially flat-earth. Thought you'd wanna know.

I love the concept of SCP-6011, with a Flat Earth with sentient life forms. Because, not only do you have to protect Humans from 6011, but also 6011 from Humans. Also I love the fact that SCP-6011 has its own SCP Foundation. Both the 6011 Foundation and the real-world Foundation are concerned *from* each other.

Y'know, I had always wondered what a "Flat Earth" would actually be like if it were even able to exist. Now, I want an amnestic so I forget this thing even exist in this case. Ever since I learned about the flat earth story, I was waiting for something like this. This is awesome. Also an interesting approach at theoretical 2D organisms and a great example of how a 4D organism could see our insides, finding us kind of weird but oddly relatable.

@@Johnsmith710s it isn't that. the writers write a script describing the scp, extend or shorten the script to be 10-15 min long, then a voice actor reads it off. After all that the animation team animates the video. Video done. keep in mind these videos are made by a company, not just some guy
