Күн бұрын

SCP 783 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as There Was A Crooked Man.
SCP-783 is a hostile entity currently preying upon the residents of Temby, a rural hamlet in Oxfordshire, England.
Victims of SCP783 attack exhibit gross deformations in their body structure as the result of dozens of compound fractures along their long bones and severely displaced vertebrae. These are healed via the rapid generation of excessive cartilage and osseous tissue. The end result of this malformation and elongation are subjects who visually present as being wholly serrated or gnarled.

@@xylophone_888 I know. But I don't think the townspeople would think like that. That's some SCPF thinking. @@xylophone_888 It won't travel to New York or anywhere else cuz the Crooked Man was once a highwayman that got executed in a gruesome method near the town, a wheel shattering his limbs and deforming it. stories like these make ya feel bad for the D class, who canonly are anything from murders to people that avoided going to jail for speeding. The fact the foundation has people that genuinely cares for these people enough to risk their lives saving them shows some of them legit want to better the world. even if its just to have him for a ginea pig for later, the fact they would save him is heart warming.

This makes me think of that one Junji Ito story. Where the people have a need to go into these perfect sized holes in the side of a mountain for each person and they wouldn’t come out. Later some miners on the other side of this mountain peered in a crack in the mountain, and a person was inside. Except they were horribly disfigured, with the face, arms, etc. crooked and elongated. The body had molded to the hole as it went through the mountain. And the person was still alive, except they only made one weird “sk” noise

Maybe, short stories such as the ones posted in the antimemetics part of the wiki. I'd specifically recommend something like the "Introductory Amnestics" story, which is so cool as well! Either way, thank you for making all of this great content, and good luck to all of you.

@Echo the Catherine's wheel. It was a torture device named after a woman who (supposedly) broke the wheel with a touch after being sentenced for coverting several important people to christianity. Someone would have their bones broken and twisted through the spokes of the wheel, sometimes they'd be left there for days before an execution

U know what I love about the scp lore, at the end of the day, someone had to have contained this thing originally. A human organization is able to contain and control these crazy strong beings from the rest of the world. They’re not magical but just determined to protect the world. It’s just a story where it shows the power of human beings. My favorite line is “the scp foundation is cold, but not cruel” it just encapsulates my feeling of many people being very cold towards others for their survival but still they have compassion to not to be cruel. It’s the idea of a nomadic hunter gather who would be cold in the sense of killing animals and possibly other humans but never for cruel or sadistic reasons but for providing for their family. I feel the majority of us humans can be brutal but only for a reason. It’s only the sick ones in our population who do it for their enjoyment.

(*(An Anomalous Nursery Rhyme)*) [😎Dr. Bright:] "Ah, the terror of Temeby himself, The Crooked Man! You know I makes me wonder if their are any more nursery rhymes regarding anomalies!" [7th-Dimension "SEEKER"/Anomalous Researcher INDRID COLD:] "Well Hay Diddle Diddle was inspired by an anomalous ritual where a cat anomalously played a fiddle, a cow anomalously jumped over the Moon🌛 (anomalously surviving its journey into the vacuum of space and reentry), a little dog laughed anomalously, all of which caused a Dish and Spoon to anomalously come to life, and ran away together to elope and get married as they belonged to two wealthy families feuding over ownership of the tableware as they were part of a rare and valuable set, with them coming to life making them even more valuable. The Dish and Spoon would eventually be found and terminated shortly after the foundation of the GOC (technically it was a mercy killing as the anomalous couple was constantly on the run from various collectors of anomalous tableware and groups like Marshal, Carter, & Dark)." [🌝Dr. Bright:] "Wow, I never knew Hay, Diddle, Diddle was based on a true story! Not surprised though, as a cow jumping over the moon and a cat playing a fiddle always did sound pretty anomalous to the point both my mom and dad were both convinced that it may be based upon some anomaly and its no surprise they were right, though mom's theory was was closer than dad's (he thought the lines about the dog laughing, as well as dish and spoon were just make believe)!" *Meanwhile O5-12 grumbles to himself upon learning his wife's theory regarding said nursery rhyme was more accurate!*

This scp reminds me of a guy in my class. The guy's crooked, basically has a longer leg that makes him limp around, also uses to stay in a crooked and weird position. Since he's a lazy jackass that looks for every occasion to give you all the work (and if you tell him no treats you like shit) I love to stick a torn in his nerves by singing the Crooked Man rhyme. Don't look bad at me, the guy deserves it, if he wasn't such an entitled and spoiled sob then I wouldn't mock him for his issues, I'm just applying the old "give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar" here
