Euclid and Keter are terms that are thrown around a lot in the SCP Foundation universe, but what do they mean? Is SCP 096 the Shy Guy less dangerous than SCP 682 the Hard to Destroy Reptile? Does it have to do with their chances of a containment breach? Why does SCP 3008 the Endless Ikea have one classification and SCP 035 the Possessive Mask have another? Another Keter class is SCP-2662, aka Cthulhu. What makes this weird is that he actually _wants_ to be contained, for both his own safety and others, he cooperates with the foundation and never tried to escape himself (though he doesn’t have a need to). What makes him difficult to “contain” is his cults that try to “break” him out. One of his anomalies is making cults that worship him about once per month, though he has no control over this and really hates them.

I like this, it clarifies that even though most Keters are super hostile or dangerous, they are Keter because they are very difficult to contain. Conversely a safe class scp which happens to be hyper dangerous to humans (or whatever), but can be easily contained by putting it in a box is safe.

I kinda wish SCP-4999 was mentioned among the Keter examples, as despite it being one of the most wholesome SCPs ever, right up there with SCP-999, its status as Keter is primarily due to it being impossible for the Foundation to Secure, despite it being effectively self-containing.

Fun fact: Because SCP-1000 sightings are nearly impossible to prevent, the Foundation chose to instead inject and maintain the global lie that Bigfoot is an urban legend. They even chose the name Bigfoot because it's "even harder to take seriously than Sasquatch".

Safe: if you put an scp in a box (containment), and it doesn't go out. Euclid: if you put and scp in a box, and you don't know what's gonna happen. Keter: if you put it in a box. And it goes outs easily. Thaumiel: if it IS the box. Apollyon: you can't put it in a box. Neautralized: no need to contain/not existing

Thaumiel: Helps you contain. Neutralized: Doesn’t need to be contained. Safe: Chances of escaping containment slim. Euclid: Needs heavy resources to keep it contained and/or needs to be recaptured regularly. Keter: Containment is difficult but possible, and requires lots of resources. Apollyon: Is impossible to contain and there is no point in even trying.
