A very risqué episode, with lots of references to Dolly Parton and her features. Originally uploaded by Christopher Ryan. NBC game show hosted by Chuck Woolery.

Great to hear almost the entire theme at the end of this one

Henry Beckman had a long career in movies and television. He was on the 1954 TV “space opera“ Flash Gordon. He also did a lot of small and uncredited roles. Died in 2008.

"This is it, this is the sign!" - Rick Moranis, Ghostbusters And it all started in a Sprint round. Semi-spoiler from here on out: the reason why this word got past the radar is because it represents a syllable of a bigger word, and the order of letters that were drawn came out unintentionally. I believe some words were screened for acceptance before they could make it onto air; words like "shi-i-t-ake-" and "b-ew-itch-ed-" would probably be disqualified from play due to the probability of a bad word being formed if the letters outside the hyphens were ignored.

I'll bet good money in this episode also features with Laurie vs. Henry with the word APPETITE.

_Scrabble_ should have been blessed to have Charlie Tuna as it's NBC announcer. Jay Stewart just didn't cut it, but Tuna was like a train on a track, scissors through paper, a hot knife through butter.

Somewhere around Summer 1986 I imagine based on the audience being visible and the Scrabble Sprint graphic - a few months before the straddling was dumped in the $100K All-American Tournament - which of course led to the more permanent format the rest of the run and 1993.

I preferred the Bonus Sprint format right there.

And also the back wall on the set changing from pink with large blue circles to blue with large pink circles.

13:24: Chuck, that's one of maybe like MANY strangest sequence of events that happened during this run of Scrabble.

This has to be the part of the run where Beth Rowan Fiance stays as Contestant Coordinator till the end of the run.

Could be worse, someone could have said "I take a "P." instead of "I'll take the letter "P.".

Was it 1986 when they started having audience sit on the floor

How is Henry Beckman on a game show? I thought he was a character actor.
@thechadmosher5 ай бұрын
He’s not incredibly well known. Anyone can be on a game show if they meet eligibility requirements and get picked.

Wow, this very episode should’ve been highlighted on TV’s Bloopers & Practical Jokes or perhaps Game Show Moments Gone Bananas. I don’t believe it was uploaded by the person who ran the Our Classic Game Show Channel.
