Today I have a pretty scrapbook layout for you featuring the beautiful Hope and Kindness collection from Close To My Heart. I share scrapbooking design tips as I assemble this layout focusing on embellishment clusters, layering and placement. I will also show how I alter a pre-made title to work for me.

Beautiful page! Im also trying to not get hung up on trying to make the perfect companion page. As my children get older, the pictures I get of them are fewer and far between. I like Dorothy’s ideas about this as well.

After watching this video,I ordered this collection of papers. It was my first Close to my Heart purchase and I'm extremely pleased. The quality is awesome. I have scrapbooked for only around 7 years but this paper is the perfect weight .

Gorgeous page! I would love to see what you do with the companion page. I am trying to break away from thinking I have to do both pages at the same time. I don't always have time and then those 2 pages end up sitting on my desk for a week while I try to complete them a bit at a time. I love to watch Dorothy's layout shares each month where she then shows us the companion pages that she has done.

Thank you, Dorothy gave me the idea to create one layout independently from the other and I am enjoying it. Double page layouts can definitely be more time consuming and it is nice to not have to do both together simultaneously

Love it! It took me a while to get to where I could just focus on one page. It has helped so much. I just make it as beautiful as possible focusing on one to two photos. Then the next page or pages are supporting but don’t have to be all out. They can be if I have time and supplies. I am still creating something beautiful that supports the photos and story without the pressure of having to have that for every photo ever taken lol.

Morning! Great layout! Multiple questions this time: 1-What size Misti do you have or if you have multiple, which do you reach for most often? 2-How did you get your marker chart into a planner like that? Hello Robin, I actually have all 3 sizes of the Misti. The Misti memory is helpful when stamping directly onto my layouts however I reach for the original size the most. Typically I am cutting my stamped images out and not stamping directly onto the page. It is also very large and I do not have a lot of work surface. I did get the mini because my mom comes up and helps me create cards often enough a second stamping platform was helpful.

For the planner version I used the swatch chart from CTMH and then selected in my print options custom size for paper, created happy planner size and then clicked the option for document to fit to page. Hopefully that makes sense

I absolutely love this layout and can't wait to see your campanion page. How do you learn to blend with the markers. I'm kind nervous about buying them because I am not great at coloring inside the lines

Thank you! I have really enjoyed adding the markers to my craft room and love the finished result of a colored stamped image. I just started practicing but right away I was happy with the results. The tri-blends really simplify the process and make it fool proof
