For challenge 46, the button challenge I built a flyer that constantly rotated backwards but you could counteract and rotate forwards using suspension glitches (I had to do that because of the limited controllers)

I did exactly the same as scrapman did first off and failed, but with a heavier car that's basically a sheet of bubble wrap, but after trying a while i realized that the piston made enough leverage to push the button while going down and making my car hang onto the ledge.

My version was a flyer too but with suspention glitch steering and the bach thruster could be rotated so it pointed more back and that helped me to move forward

It´s funny to see other people do these challenges and what they´ve come up with XD For challenge 46 I built a wall rider, since there´s a floor under water I could maneuver under water no problem

For the challenge 46, I think they wanted you to make those oldschool X-like pistons. You know, those ones we were using before the actual pistons came But anyway, it's was awesome video. Loved it

@@jamesTBurke it's fine. It's always nice to see there are new players to scrap mechanic. A little tip: when building, don't be scared to destroy stuff and redo it. It will take time, but it's gonna be better. One more tip: If the thing just doesn't work or you give up, then slap a bunch of thrusters on a switch and send it flying or just bomb it with explosives

9:40 ScrapMan, it is so simple. Just put a bearing on the end of the long stick and attach 6 blocks of wood that point down and hook up a controller that when you press a third switch it tells the bearing to turn 135 degrees (personally i think turning left would be cooler) and the rotation of the piece would be enough to push the button 16:57 "That was craythy." -ScrapMan 2022

My vehicle for challenge 46 was very unique. I had thrusters on steering bearings move from the center of the vehicle to the back so I could steer in the water. The thrusters were on a system of small arms that would change them from being in the center and facing upwards to moving them to the back and rotating them so they face backwards. From this, I was able to drive up the walls and then move into the slots. The piston for pushing the buttons were pretty much the same apart from that I had a single block on top instead of a bar. Challenge 47 was the worst one for me. Everything I tried just didn't work so I gave up and went to sleep. The next day, I finally had something that worked. It didn't get it into the hoop but it launched it under the hoop and it rolled into the ball receiver socket.

You should try to make a particle accelerator in Instruments of Destruction. Should be easy, you just need a metal ball to go around in a circle being propelled by angled magnets.

Hack for amphibious vehicles. Put the rear wheels..and thrusters on the steering berings. It drives the same land or sea. Saves berings for other needs/less berings for lag.

The button chalenge is actually pretty easy. I built a simple wallrider with the thrusters rotating and a piston poker for the buttons. But if you build a simple wallrider you could just go on the bottom of the water

On Challenge 47 you can build a bridge to the net (as I did) and just drive the car to push balls to the net without any problems. Obviously it is tedious to make a proper bridge, but it's more rewarding in the terms of reliability.

You should play Space engineers it’s like a more complicated scrap mechanic but anything is possible in space engineers from automated factories to guided missiles with enough knowledge you can build amazing things.

I just wanted to mention an I teresting discovery that has been made in scrap mechanic, 2x2 bearings work, If you place bearings like this, and make sure they all rotate in the same direction, it actually functions. The only issue is that it only works to a certain extent. They can only rotate maybe 15 degrees, unless you set your physics quality to the minimum, giving full range of motion. I did not discover this, but I do not know who made the original discovery, so if anyone finds who it was, credits to them.

I had a way more complex way if doing the first one edit: if you put a piston on max and build a next on a loose hinge you can build a counter weight to make sure the basket is always upright

This was prob the funniest solution for challenge 46, all I did was make a foldable arm with bearings in order to reach the buttons, rather than have the whole vehicle go up there xD

WARNING: The challenge you're on can seem broken when you finish the basketball part, but if you set the physics lower it usually fixes itself and extends the bridge!

At the end, when you get four hoops, the ramp leading to the end will sometimes get stuck, if that happens turning the game to the lowest physicals hopefully will get it unstuck.

I thought it was broken for like two hours because I hadn't thought of this, but then I saw it in someone's video after I rebuilt my creation. Sad but I kinda wanted to build the design I ended up with anyway

for challenge 46 i feel like i under engineered it by just making extendable arms using the controler and bearings, it worked pretty well though its a boring solution

Interesting solution for 46. Mine was a two-wheeler. Quicker to build, but way more tricky to drive/climb.

the basketball one was extremely hard for me but it was harder yet because it almost always glitched through the launch mechanism from lag making it even harder. so I had to balance between it glitching though and getting enough to make it there after that it was just 45 minits of brute forcing it and two level mechanisum jams latter that I got it.

9:00 I think this design could have worked if you made it slightly taller with and placed a bearing connected to a controller on the end of the extended bit to rotate upwards and hit the buttons so leverage is less of an issue, although I don't mess around with Scrap Mechanic's water to know if this would have prohibited balance in the water Edit: I just saw someone had the same idea in the comments, I typed this before seeing, don't kill me

You can just make a generic catapult with pistons and rotating stoppers to throw the balls into the net
