Welcome to another episode of Trailmakers! Recently I tried and failed to build a functional space train. Other people found some creative solutions to my issues. Will these solutions work for my train?

Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Alright, looks like all that complexity confused Scrapman. It all can be summarised to "chain activation". If you still don't get it, here's how it works: no.1 does something, no.2 copies no.1, etc, I do this for every other car. You can see this happening when he tapped W. (03:44) The angle sensors in the middle car activates the gyros at the rear most car with a delay. About the feeling of turning being locked, it's all relative to the speed that you are currently at, the faster you are the larger turning circle the train takes, slower you are the tighter the turn. I thought this was realistic. Gimbals are for low gravity situations (0.5G), there is 1 altitude sensor underneath the train and for each car.

I think of hoverpad gliches as wings that increase in lift the faster you go in the direction they dont face

Could you possibly make a vehicle that loops around and attaches to itself to form a circle. It wouldn't really be functional as a vehicle, but it might break the physics in a fun way.

I would recommend replaying volcanoids a third time, I've followed its development and it seems they've added alot more content since you last played! Plus volcanoids was just a really good game.

What if you and the lads did a Scrap Mechanic multiplayer Monday (either multiple Mondays or maybe one longer video?) revisiting some of your old challenges like pole climber etc. and redoing them to see how much your building techniques have improved over the years?

In order to do the hoverpad stabilization you don't have to make a hoverpad face another hoverpad, you can just make a hoverpad face normal blocks, it's basically like the wall climbing glitch but done for all sides. Just think of it like this: when a hoverpad is facing something, be it a block or just the ground, it will apply a force, if two hoverpads are applying saif force in opposite directions, a "stabilization" effect will occur on that axis.

The nice thing about the train being in space is that even though it is really slow, you can't tell because it's in the middle of basicslly nowhere

Hey scrap man! If you like anime a little bit. I recommend you try Express 999 or the series call "the galaxy railways". They are both set in the same railway world and it gots loads of space trains. Kinda like the one you made here. Lol. Hope you like it if you see this.

I wonder if there's any Parts/Deco/Combo of Parts and Deco that could attach to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Cars over the Hover Engine Flames to either trick them into lookin legit part of the looks or hidden to complete the 'Space Train' illusion...? 🤔 Edit: Ahh, possible idea: Simple Hubcap over the Flames Decal'd with a Vent/Grate!

I am here to recamend a game to showcase on the channel, "armored core 6" it keeps in line with the engineering and buildung your channel is used to, while at the same time being a great game in terms of fun. If it doesnt catch on, oh well it was only one episode. Just move on to the basics again

now that you have the space train thing down you should totally revisit the space train combat idea. and now for the i told you so - i totally suggested you try the ufo glitch in space when you were taking space episode theme request. well before the space train but still lol.

I wonder if the hitch's vertical position is related to the problem. Normal trains have hitches lower because of how gravity works. Maybe this version needs a more centered hitch.

You should try to make a flying 10 car train. Not in space, but in atmosphere where you’ll have drag which I feel should make things easier

Normal Version: For multiplayer games stuff i have a good idea for space trains why not have a space train transport tnt or other cargo if too hard, then have someone defend you but the train still has some type of weapons so the player defending can always respawn after getting destroyed but only near their own train and a lot of inspiration from that ship video with automatic ships and you both attacking each others ship until it blows up in scrap mechanic so yea but the weapons on the train wont be strong only made to slow down any attacks maybe EMPs on the train then the person defending you can go to the other train and attack them instead and goes the same for the other team Compressed version: 1 player defends another player in a train with EMPs and defends cargo [TNT but if too hard then something else] then that same player defending can attack the other team [4 player game] so 2 teams Bonus stuff: for an ending or something you can choose what you want maybe more TNT or more cargo maybe even battle trains but yea thats it

I think you can fix train wonkiness by just _add a small and not powerful thruster that face backward_ for each/last trailer. *why* ? it's because the train trailer when on the rails there's at least two forces *slow* it down (1. friction 2. air drag) so, the trailer stays behind the train engine the same also goes for boats/tugboats (1. water drag 2. air drag) but in space there's no air, friction or drag. once trailer catchup the speed of the engine it'll want to stay the same speed as it is. when you slow down the train engine, train trailer still at the same high speed so it ends up go Infront of the engine instead and make the whole train spin... and also, when you turn you add a new axis of force to the trailers once you stop turning since there's no air, friction or drag that another axis of force doesn't know where to go so it'll just do its job by just continue moving the trailers and make the whole train spin... again... //well I'm not a physic expert so it might be wrong... *TLDR* : space has no way to slow things down, we just have to make sure the things that supposed to stay behind is always slower than the things that supposed to be the lead, and wonkiness will disappear...
