Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

I think the big difference in the last round was actually scrapman starting to look away from his opponents while not actively firing. This let the turret's armor do its job much better.

I think if you did this first person thing with a 2 vs 2 pilot and gunner style plane fight as well as boats it would be tons of fun. I think the limited visibility is just a great way to up the difficulty without making it too difficult.

It should also be HUD off. If its first person view you shouldn't be able to see the nametags through your armour.

so... was glass banned or something? i don't think you mentioned it in the start of the vehicle, but that would have made your cockpits more survivable

there are often rules they don't mention, so yeah glass was probably banned, otherwise it would just be so obvious.

One day you need to test each wheel's durability and traction. Maybe the bigger ones are just bigger targets when it comes to survive-ability?

nope, big wheels can take 10 hits from a tiny cannon, small wheels can take 4 or so hits.

Idea for more trailmakers challenges: you spin a wheel that decides what wheels, seats, weapons(different weapons may have different limits), amount of wheels. And you build battle vehicles with what you got

Idea: Vehicle battle. Just build anything that will hopefully get you the win. Let's see Howmush destruction we can see when you're only limited to your imagination (and the 700 block limit). Maybe build a plane with 5 of every weapon? Maybe build a truck with 20 miniguns on the back. Or maybe build a submarine that can fly so you can hide under the water. I think it's will be fun too see what everyone comes up with.

9:44, have you tried making a gear shift, as in you press a button (ex: 1) to make it turn fast, but pressing a different button (ex: 2) will give a more precise shot.

Episode idea... the luck build battle challenge. Use dice to decide what type of vehicle, seat, engine, wheel/wing pieces etc. Narrow down by having things allocated to even or odd numbers till you are left with item you have to build. Once everyone had built, battle!

Scrapman i would like to see a 1v1v1v1 dogfight where everyone builds a plane and you randomly chose who gets whos plane you can get your own if you are lucky the creator also gets to chose the camera angel you have to use this can be a camera block.

Here's an idea, 3 of you make planes that chase someone in a car, and the planes are loaded with explosives, and the wings detach from the plane to turn into a missile-like thing! You try to hit the car before they hit you with some kind of air defense. The 3 planes would be VERY vulnerable because of the explosives, which is why there are 3!

If you input the turrets controls (hinges/servo) with a controller, you can actually move it with your mouse.

You should try a space dogfight, basically use mods for zero gravity, and make a space fighter with no blocks from the wing section(to simulate lack of atmosphere). Nighttime is optional, and set a power core and block limit.

Video Idea: Tank Battle but you have to put 5 camera blocks in every direction excluding down. You then have to use a repetitive circuit ( or whatever the thingy is called) and you switch through every camera randomly. Normal Mode : camera visibility angle 100%. Hardcore Mode : low or 0 camera visibility angle. Only one weapon allowed, full articulation, and rest of the rules that you like.

A. 4v4 battleship each with four miniguns or cannons 300 block limit that's not including propulsion proportion can be however fast you want it in for a challenge around 2v2 one controls the front half the ship. The other controls the back half of the ship

Idea! Aircraft carrier battle: 2V2 or 3V3 Everyone builds a vehicle, 1carrier and 1-2planes per team, the goal is to destroy the enemy carrier, the planes can respawn infinitely and have to take off from the carrier. The planes should have guns/rockets to fight enemy planes, but can only use torpedoes and guns against the carriers,(rockets and bombs would be too easy) so the carrier also has to dodge the torpedoes while letting the planes take off. I hope you like my idea! P.S. ideally with scrapman. I think there would only be time for 1maybe 2 rounds in a video, but there would be so much action!

I’d like to see you create a sight for a bomber using camera blocks and altitude and airspeed sensors. It would be game changing. Could make a fun challenge amongst friends out of it.

Minigun powered glider battle. The only form of thrust you guys can have are 2 (or maybe 4) rear facing miniguns. Otherwise it would be a standard smart cannon> miniguns> rocket dog fight

Can you do a underwater tank battle, the vehicles are mega boyant with watter thrusters pushing you down. If you cant move or you float to the surface, you lose

Tank battle where you are connected to an anchor pin somewhere and the tank itself is attached to a chain of hinges and each round you either increase or decrease the lenght

Blimp race and you get a powder cannon with a timer on it (so it takes much longer to reload) to make each shot more precious and it being a race

For once, From the Depths probably wouldn't handle this challenge well. However, you could do one where you have to build a control room and pilot via in-game screens and radars. More topically, every time you do a battle with turrets, I wonder if you'd be better off setting up some logic blocks to snap your turret to the cardinal directions and using the vehicle for finer aiming. It would allow for faster turning and it should give you more consistent firing angles, but it would also create areas where you can't aim. I suspect it would be more useful for things where you're using faster craft, particularly when targeting something slower, since you could quickly transition between approach guns, broad sides, and tail guns without having to manually move between them or take your focus off flying.

Tank vs bomber battle, but the bomber cannot use any weapons, instead using a magnet to pick up a separate creation that has TNT. 3 people, each creating a bomb, a bomber, and a tank

How about a rotating design battle? Each person designs a combat vehicle for another player to use. That pilot then modifies it for the next round, for yet another person to pilot. Ad infinitum.

Wonder if the amount of blocks makes a difference. As if the blast dissipates the energy through all the blocks. Like electricity flowing through multiple things but gets weaker the more you have. One block with one blaster should trigger more frequently.
