Can I ask why you don't cut brass fittings off the washing machines hoses?I also seen where cord cutters cut cords they left behind the plugs they cut off cord.i wonder why you not pick those up and get the brass from them.i do e-waste and also cut cords .when I cut plug off I toss them in a container and if I see any on curb I pick them up.when Im watching TV at night and a ad comes on,instead of getting up looking for snack I pull plugs out and cut brass off .some nights I get a pound or two ,other nights maybe a half pound of plug brass.i take that in once a month and always have 20 pounds or so of just brass plug ends.i will say this,I lost weight doing that instead of a snack lol
@PolyProphet
@PolyProphet 2 жыл бұрын
I’ve had this question before and find that most of ours are plastic. Unless I’m missing something 🤔 I fell off the back of a motorbike when I was young so with the plugs I have trouble twisting for too long. My wrist can’t handle unfortunately.
@nevinwalter
@nevinwalter 2 жыл бұрын
I can relate,I have medical issues that only can get around about a hour without a walker to help.im not sure if here in states the new washer hoses have brass ends.i only ever see old ones when I'm out.depending on plug I sometimes use a bottle jack and a board attach to a bucket with cement in it in my garage.i have it set up on work bench and sit on stool.i place plug against wood and have jack on side in a homemade jig.i give it few pumps and bang plug breaks open ,I get brass and little bit copper wire out of it .I then cut copper from brass and toss in their tubs .just idea maybe to help you
@nevinwalter
@nevinwalter 2 жыл бұрын
I forgot add love your videos and nice set up with trailer.in my area not enough ewaste and cords to have trailer since that all I do.only steel and aluminum I deal with comes from what I pick ,so it makes my sorting easy.when I first started I picked anything that I could put on my pick up and scrap.after few months I realized that it cost money doing that ,because of other scalpers out.now I been around for couple years,I got in to electronic store, plumbing and heating, appliances stores for their e-waste and cords.plumbing and heating place saves me their copper,brass,and wires.electronic store calls once month to pick up their scrap,and appliances store now cuts cords and break motors out of what they tossing out and put aside for me.no dumpster diving anymore.local school district wants me pick up their scrap day after school let's out for summer.they emailed me asking about it and what I was willing to take.so they going separate what I will take and have someone else pick up rest scrap.i get the school kid next door to help do pick ups for spending money.he sometimes will help scrap if I ask.night before trash day we go out few hours and pick my items as he knows what I look for.i pay him depending on time spent and job help with he make between 100 and two hundred month.he told me other day he saving for first car with what he earns

@PolyProphet don't know if you want to take the time to pull the copper fron the rings you get from the washers. Very easy to take apart and you should get around 10 to 12 ounces, sorry I don't know the metric weight for ounces, for each ring. I get about 8 ounces from ceiling fans so you should more from those. Just a thought, not sure if that interest you.
