Hello scrappers and planet lovers. In this video, I will show you all the free copper, tin, aluminum, and other metals that can be found in an older sound system. I will show you how to safely and effectively identify and separate the metals in order to maximize your profit and divert the entire item away from the landfill.

I'm the same as you Tin Man, I run hot all the time. I get funny looks when I'm in a t-shirt in the snow in winter 😆

Good day James Boy didn't know that , good stuff. Boy when u were inside, interesting The silver, yes it is a small amt. But like something we learn in high school working for a penny aday double. 1st , 1 penny 2nd 2 pennies 3rd day 4 pennies. I think u are a millionare by the end of month. Thanks

Shred was 6 cents a lb 3 days ago here in N GA. I could get 7-9 cents at another yard but ! Ill drive $4 in gas getting there and back . . I mainly need to free up the back of my truck so Ill check the price 3 miles down the road again later this week. + I'm sitting on LBS of Brass and Copper waiting on prices to rise [ hopefully ]. good day.

Yup, same with me. I can get better price for tin if I drive an hour. Four cents a pound more is not worth the $30 I would spend in gas.

people buy them for spares, whenever I find hifi separates I advertise them on facebook as broken for spares or repairs, they always sell quickly

I find that the aluminum wire goes for a better price than extrusion.

That's why I don't throw my aluminum motors and transformers in shred. Clean aluminum for me brings .45/lb, but aluminum wire is .80/lb!!! It all adds up!

I think it depends on where you are. In London ON., not worth much at all. We have a catagory called 1S wire, but that is clean wire from electrical wire from houses or the hydo hook-up

@jamesfirth1280 Yeah, that's possible, but in northern BC, we get a lot more for the aluminum electrical wire than any other aluminum. I assumed it was like that everywhere.

dont think that was an mlcc think that was a ceramic capacitor, could bw wrong but mlcc's are the like rectangle ones that have metal on either side and are like beige or brown in the middle, surface mount things, but those just round through whole things are ceramic, some that look like that might be tantalum but they are not circular but like a dome shape thing that are sometimes in older electronic but yea think that was a ceramic lol

17:50 that is not a coil.. it's a transistor or triac... and the spool is called coil 😏
