Scrappy's Puppet Theater (1936): A short animated/live-action promotional film for the Scrappy Puppet Theater giveaway, which must have been the best-promoted giveaway of its time. Scrappy, in creepily limited and exaggerated animation, introduces child star Edith Fellows

1) This is *The Puppet Murder Case* released June 21, 1935. 2) Scrappy wasn't always that mean to Oopy. He could be a very loving and protective older brother for example *Sandman Tales*, but he could indeed be a bastard with Oopy. 3) Rather Kafkaesque for a cartoon, although the Fleischers ventured into that territory too.

I watched and loved Scrappy cartoons as a kid in Cuba B.C....They are wonderful! Thanks for posting.

I was kinda looking for Scrappy when he just walked down the street, all jaunty, and the world bounced with him...cars would be rolling along with those big patches on the tires....that's all I can remember of Scrappy...other than when somebody was calling his name over and over...in a very tiny voice...

Claude Kirchner's cartoon shows were on in the 50's and 60's. He was also the host of "Super Circus".

I'm pretty sure this is called "The Puppet Murder Case," not "Scrappy's Puppet Theater." Also, it's from 1935, not 1936.
