Woah, this deserves more views! It fixed the very issue I was having with my Kawai piano. No other videos or anything on the web describes this solution. I put Protek lubricant instead of WD40 out of apprehension though. Thank you so much for the great video!

thank you. I have the same problem. Wasn't sure exactly where it was coming from. I'll try putting some PTFE powder or Protek lubricant on those spots.

Never use WD-40 in a piano (even when working with pedals/trapwork). Protek or PTFE (Teflon) spray or powder are far better and totally safe options. WD-40 penetrates deep into wood and bushings and may cause very serious issues. Especially if you use it inaccurately and get some on the pinblock.
