Three women of horror, so-called “Scream Queens” who have starred in so many horror productions -- Linnea Quigley (The Return of the Living Dead, Graduation Day), Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, You're Next) and Dee Wallace (Cujo, The Hills Have Eyes, Critters) -- discuss their careers, reveal often hilarious behind-the-scenes stories and answer horror fan questions at their 2019 “Frightmare in the Falls” Q&A panel in Niagara Falls, Canada.
FRIGHTMARE IN THE FALLS in Niagara Falls -- Canada's largest horror convention and the most intimate and interactive horror festival in North America -- is a popular two-day event that features more than 50,000 square feet of all things horror including memorabilia, panels, celebrities, movies, autographs, displays, movie cars, cosplay, special effects props and much more! The event is presented by RUE MORGUE, the world’s leading horror-in-culture-and-entertainment brand, spearheaded by the world's #1 and multiple award-winning horror magazine, "Rue Morgue" and "Rue Morgue Digital," issued bimonthly and distributed worldwide. Its other ventures include the "Rue Morgue TV" specialty horror channel, the "Rue Morgue Library" book series and the "Rue Morgue Presents CineMacabre Movie Nights" monthly film series. LINNEA QUIGLEY (born May 27th, 1958) is an American actress, film producer, model, singer, author and animal rights activist. She is best known as a B movie actress and is often referred to as a "scream queen" due to her frequent appearances in low-budget horror films during the 1980s and 1990s. She got her first acting role in the Charles Band-produced film "Fairy Tales" (1978) and continued receiving small parts, mostly in B movies. Quigley's first bigger part was in the slasher film "Graduation Day" (1981), and she went on to star in such films as "Savage Streets" (1984) and "Silent Night, Deadly Night" (1984). In 1985, she appeared in the zombie horror film "The Return of the Living Dead" portraying the teenage punk, "Trash" -- one of her most notable roles which gained her "scream queen" status. During the second half of the 1980s, Quigley starred in a number of low-budget films following the popularization of home video. She repeatedly worked with directors David DeCoteau ("Creepozoids" in 1987 and two films in 1988: "Nightmare Sisters" and "Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama") and Kevin Tenney ("Night of the Demons" in 1988 and "Witchtrap" the following year), and appeared alongside fellow scream queens Brinke Stevens and Michelle Bauer. Quigley pursued a different path in the first two films of Rick Sloane's comedy series "Vice Academy" (1989-1990). Aside from her acting career, she is also a singer (she formed an all-female band "The Skirts" in the early 1980s) and an author ("The Linnea Quigley Bio & Chainsaw Book," "I'm Screaming as Fast as I Can: My Life in B-Movies" and "Skin").
BARBARA CRAMPTON (born December 27th, 1958) is an American film and television actress who has appeared in numerous horror films, sci-fi films and soap operas and is best known for portraying Megan Halsey in Stuart Gordon's 1985 sci-fi/horror/comedy film "Re-Animator." She made her screen debut on the daytime drama "Days of Our Lives" (1983), and her film debut in 1984's "Body Double." Crampton has since starred in a variety of films including "Chopping Mall" (1986), "From Beyond" (1986), "Castle Freak" (1995), "You're Next" (2011), "We Are Still Here" (2015) and "Little Sister" (2016). She is also well known for playing Leanna Love on the long-running soap opera television series "The Young and the Restless" (1987-93; 1998-2002; 2006-07) for which she was nominated for a Soap Opera Digest Award for 'Outstanding Villainess in a Drama Series - Daytime' in 1990. Crampton recently portrayed Vanessa Moss in the Syfy television series "Channel Zero: The Dream Door" (2018).
DEE WALLACE, also known as Dee Wallace-Stone (born December 14th, 1948) is an American actress who has appeared in several genre films and is perhaps best known for her role as Mary, the mother, in the 1982 blockbuster film "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial." She is also well known for her starring roles in several horror films including the venerable classic "The Hills Have Eyes" (1977), the werewolf movie "The Howling" (1981) as investigative journalist Karen White, as Donna Trenton in Stephen King's "Cujo" (1983) and "Critters" (1986) for which she earned the title of "scream queen."
