🍀 @LondonCityWalks_ 🍀 First posted : 20.04.24 (Part 1of2). Second-posted...😊 Hello John, I don't accept disrespect 'in general' and towards you 'in particular'. When I see that, I'm inclined to come to your defence because of the esteem and friendship I have for you. I like you (appreciate you) very·very·very much ! ~ You made a point about "bad" comments and their consequences. I agree with you 💯%. Great video this Saturday 20 April. As always ! But some are better than others ▶120%. 😉😜😄 ~ I often leave a comment (not every day, but nearly every day), but "victim of your success", it happens very regularly that you don't see my messages... 1/ With answers to your questions ; or 2/ questions of information that I ask you. (All in response to your comments). ~ Very happy for you with the success of your Channel, take care, have a good Sunday 🌞 and see you soon. 🙏💕🐴 🖐

Thank you for your videos. I have mobility problems, so I don't think I'll ever get to London again. I love the respect you give to the troopers and defend them when ignorant tourists disrespect them. You have such knowledge and I am learning a lot from you. Thank you once again and your behind the scenes video was brilliant and again I learnt so much. 😊

Those were young Englishwomen? How bloody embarrassing. Have a word with your daughters Dad. In fact, give them a history lesson. What on Earth was that all about? Usually I'd purely blame the adult supervising them but they looked plenty old enough to know better. Silly little girls.

Their dad is probably as ignorant as they are. We have generations now who aren’t taught how to behave and show respect because their parents were allowed to get away with so much by the politically correct brigade. They all knew “their rights” but were taught it’s OK to ignore everyone else’s. Fortunately, credit where it’s due, not all of our younger generation will grow up to be totally useless members of society and simply procreating the next generation of louts. (Can you tell I come from a time when we were taught to respect our elders, use our manners and how to behave in polite society?)

Having seen another vid taken of the screaming idiots as well as yours, I think they were making a 'big joke' about the Chitsman as he went out to attend to his duties, by making out he was chasing them or something. Their father seemed to be oblivious to their behaviour and sadly, the two were still giggling as they passed through the gates after they got called out. It's a pity there isn't some sort of on the spot fine as I don't think their dad would haven't been so happy if there were!

When you've been on a horse for a long time and you dismount, especially if it's a big horse and you have a long way to descend, your feet are a bit numb and it takes a few minutes to normalise. You can see this in the troopers slightly limping as they head for the stables.

The trouble today is that from an early age some children are NOT told "NO". Sweet as he is my neighbors have a little boy who turned 3 a few days ago. He is their only child and they adore him. But he does have some epic and very noisy tantrums and screams high pitched very loud screams when he cannot get his own way. Invariably he usually does get what he demands as the parents just give in to his demands when he really "kicks off." They say that he is too young to be disciplined yet as "he would not understand". I think their son does know the difference between yes and no but I cannot give them that advice - I do NOT think any advice would be welcomed. According to them he is "too young to explain things to him, at the moment." Hope the teachers can handle it when they need to deal with his tantrums in the future.

On the merchandise front, Westminster is pretty strict about the quality of merchandise sold by those it grants trading licences to and about sites licenced traders are allowed to sell from. Westminster, City of London and Royal parks are huge tourist attractions and sub standard merchandise can give any tourist area a bad name.

John, a question - why, when they are dismounting, do the troopers slap their horses on their necks and on the hips. It seems an odd way to thank their mount for standing still for an hour in the box and putting up with all sorts of tourists pawing at them.

@@jennifercawthorne9855 The first pat on the neck says well done job over , the second by the leading Trooper is to the saddle indicating dismount , weight change stand still . I believe the big unknown horse that came out of the box at the beginning of this video was Vanquish. You did name him previously because my info is only from you and from my sketches. I only note the name if you give it. There was another horse (on the chitsman side box) whose star resembles a Sioux (Native American tribe) thunderbird. That horse was Lyric. Lyric was in the box earlier that day or the day before. I enjoy your videos and try to keep up with ID'ing the horses. Keep up the good work, and Thanks!

Yes that's what I thought, I knew John had Identified the horse before, white socks front right short sock, front left 1/4 sock back left and right long socks, full length and wide face Blaise indented around the left eye and now I remember he did say if was Vanquish, poor john I think he's overworking himself.

John has a lot to keep track of. I always look at the blaze and stars first and associate it with something to help me remember, like Lyric's thunderbird. Trinity's nostrils are brown and Quarterback has a white smear below his left eye. Our American footballers sometimes smear black under their eyes to cut down on glare. And Harvester looks like he has had his nose broken by a run in with a Harvester. I still get it wrong sometimes cause some marks are so similar. Happy watching!

John, you should get someone to take your picture next to each horse, each day you're there and document the horse's name on each pic (pics for yourself, not to post here, if you don't want to). great keepsake and way to look horses up, when needed!! may want to make sure they entire horse in pic, incl feet! you may nor spend what you think is a lot of time on this, doing filming, but when you add up the hours you spend on reading comments, checking that certain people aren't shown, etc, this is probably a full time job! luckily you don't have to do too much post-editing or post-narration b/c that would really add up!! love your videos and your high moral standards!! and, you don't need to feel ashamed of those girls. there are bad kids and people in every area of the globe. kids esp are not well-behaved these days. i think parenting has really not been good for awhile now and getting worse. plus, "social" media is really a way to make people anti-social!!

I always thought the name "WAYGOOD" was a bit strange. I had visions of troopers saying "this horse is way good!!"😂😂😂 But I thought I'd look it up for clarification..for myself mainly..and it turns out there is a WAYGOOD, a thoroughbred racehorse and sire best known for winning the Irish Derby Stakes in 1923!!! At the end of his racing career, he was exported to the USA, where he served as a stallion for a US Army Remount Service. Thanks Wikipedia!!! I'm guessing many of you probably knew the real reason behind the name, but I thought this was really interesting!!! Thanks John for your wonderful channel!!! xxxx

The name is more likely to be that of Major Richard Waygood MBE who rose through the ranks to become Riding Master in The Household Cavalry . Interesting bit of information though about the racehorse . I was a bit like you when I first heard the name , wondering if the Trooper who suggested the name was a Geordie 😂😂😂

Oh dear John……..slight case of “foot in mouth” there out front? 🤭😂 I’ll bet the Captain was trying hard not to laugh😂 Ok we really need to clear up this Vanquish/Velite thing 😂 it’s driving me nuts. I have Vanquish down as “broad Star and blaze over nose, kinked to the left at eye level-white lower lip-LF sock over fetlock-RF sock just below fetlock-LR + RR stockings-all white hooves LR hoof has black stripe”(all facing which I know “should” be from the pov of the saddle, but since we see them facing us I do it that way)…….which is also an exact description of the horse that has also been ID’d as Velite…….so which is it?🤯 And now you realise how important showing the “whole” horse is for ID purposes 🤓😎 Luckily Rarden is easy to ID with that forefoot coronet. And ofc Weygood is pretty distinctive too with his paint dribble blaze. Those neck marks are just hair John, completely transient(and I’m still almost certain they’re cover rub) Wow loved that lady with the flaming red hair colour…..wonder what she uses cos the shade is great!! Wish someone would straighten Weygoods bridle headpiece tho…..the metal strip has slipped off the leather beneath…..no biggie it’s just me being completist again 🤣 Glad that officer treated them exactly like they behaved……like 10 year olds. Shut DOWN 🤣
