Few hours a month? Oh no. Each of these videos takes several weeks working full time. From research and writing, to voice over, graphic creation, editing, etc. I’m glad they appear to be quick and easy.

I finally got around to testing the RC Pro with the only USB Mic I own. This is the Yeti Blue USB Microphone ( amzn.to/3vOloNP ). This is a desktop mic, which of course you'd never use it in the field because of it's size, but I thought it would help me to start troubleshooting the problem I've seen reported over and over again regarding USB mics over-feeding the input of the RC Pro. Unfortunately, it works perfectly (unfortunate because I can't fix it if it's not broken). This mic has a gain control, which does change the recording level on the RC Pro. If I crank it to the max, it does "Slightly" over feed the recording. When lowered to the minimum, is is "slightly" low... Mid-Range is perfect. This makes me wonder if DJI has fixed the problem via a firmware update and now most USB mics will work... I'll see what I can find out.

It’s not something I’ve ever looked into. Are you thinking social media or broadcast (like a tv feed). Maybe a good future video.

Yes. You can cache/download the maps while on wifi so they are available when off-line. My preference is to setup my phone as a hotspot once on site. I only download the maps ahead of time when I'll be in a remote area and cell phone signal is questionable.

The logs? Yes. I’ll double check, but I think you can playback flights path and data. Height, speed, stick movement, etc.

Ah. Sorry. Yes, you are right, the RC Pro caches the video recorded on the drone. Just when recording. The cache files are HD quality vs ultra high on drone. It does not cache the photos captured. I’m just finishing a video on posting from the RC Pro to Social Media direct and I use the cache files to do it. Should be done next week.

I checked my Smart Controller and don't see an option to capture screen recording to the MicroSD card. I set it as the default storage device but screen recordings continue to go to internal memory. Can you tell me what you did to get screen captures to go to the SD card? Thank you.

In others words… it captures whatever is on the screen… so, before initiating a capture, make sure you are displaying what you’d like to capture. I probably made it more complicated than it needed to be ;)

You're comment was posted on our video regarding Screen capture. So, when you are asking about recording to the MicroSD card I assume you are asking about recording screen captures. At the time of the recording, you cannot record screen recordings to the MicroSD card. @@middleloopvideo that’s what I ended up doing. I have the Air 2S and even though you can zoom the lens, you can only do it in video mode with that drone. My thinking was I could zoom the lens in video mode then take a screen shot but all the telemetry info will also be on the screen and I wouldn’t want that. The only way I see to get around it is to shoot video then take a still from a frame of video.

Oh boy. A lot of challenges there. Are you expecting the RC Pro to handle feed to KZfaq? Or just be a source and let something else do the mixing/feed.

I do have some experience with webcasting. I wonder if OBS has an android version or a product like it. KZfaq would need to see the feed from the drone as a “webcam”. And then what about audio. OBS is a virtual switcher. Then I’d be worried about cpu. I think I would want the RC Pro to be pretty much dedicated to flying the drone. I could see taking the HDMI output into a HDMI to USB converter into a laptop. Then it’s seen as a webcam. Solves the audio problem too. Sorry, I’m thinking out loud.

I don't believe the RC Pro has any headphone/Mic jacks... just mini HDMI. The screen recordings do contain an audio track. But, my assumption is that would be to capture audio from any application open on the RC Pro. My work flow is to do all the recording of voice tracks during post production. If you were recording a "real time" flight with screen capture of the rc pro portion, most people i've seen use a clip on mic like the Rode Go II ( amzn.to/3yRPCAn ) or DJI is coming out with a sweet one next year... these mics record their own track for post production or you can plug them into the camera for an audio track... I hope this helps

@@middleloopvideo I agree. I'm on a Mac and wanted to access my Flight Records by moving them from the internal storage to the SD Card. After talking to DJI support it turns out you can only see the FlightRecord Directory when the RC Pro is connected to a computer. To access the RC Pro on a Mac I had to download the Android File Transfer app. It worked but the files were not in the location that DJI said they were. Seems like Mac and Android don't get on too well.

@@BrianKushner A lot of variables there... Bluetooth being the first I'd look at. I hope to find time this week to hook up my USB mic, per DJI's guidance, and see what happens. I'll get back to you.

I haven't seen any references to be able to screen cast natively from the RC Pro. You might want to reach out to DJI support and ask them... I have had very good experiences with chat on their site.

@@middleloopvideo Good point. I've made some progress on file management, particularly by using the "Gallery" - the generic Android one they included. Still, it's a nightmare with "App Album", "Phone Album", "Export from DJI", DCIM (internal AND SD card) etc.. There is little rhyme or reason to file system locations. Sigh. Yes. But, the RC Pro doesn’t actually have a mic. We’re planning on doing a video on just that. You’re going to need an external mic. We’ve tested a wired lavaliere amzn.to/3HgVIPf And a wired desktop mic amzn.to/3mtwyTU Both are usb mics. The desktop (yeti) required a usb a to c adapter amzn.to/3mnJxX8 We’re waiting on the DJI wireless mic to test that before producing the video. Sorry for the long answer.

I have tried Bluetooth earbuds. I was able to hear audio from the RC Pro but it didn’t use the earbuds as a mic. I have also heard others who tried a Bluetooth mic but couldn’t get it to work.

Good idea for a future video. I’ll need to research as it’s not something I have ever looked into or attempted.

The latest firmware update did indeed enable this feature. It’s called “Quick Transfer”. I’ve successfully used it to copy files off the Mavic 3 onto my iPhone. Maybe I should do a video? 😀

You have a point. But it doesn’t bother me. I need to check B4UFLY / Aloft anyway and geofencing needs the latest for TFRs, etc.
