Inspiration behind this video:
Prey helped to revitalize the franchise, and Prey 2 is perhaps the most in-demand Predator sequel in decades. The first Predator, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, became a hit in 1987, but various attempts at a sequel, reboot, and even a spinoff off with Alien vs Predator failed to live up to the original. However, Prey and star Amber Midthunder managed to take the franchise back to its roots with a simple yet thrilling action story with a determined hero taking on the deadly alien Predator - refreshed by mashing the sci-fi horror with period drama aesthetics.
Helmed by director Dan Trachtenberg, Prey acts as a prequel taking place well ahead of the other films in the Predator series with its setting in 1719. It follows Naru (Amber Midthunder), a young Comanche woman who aspires to become a hunter. Naru and her people soon come to realize that there is another powerful presence in the forest that poses a far greater danger than the bears and wolves they usually hunt. With a franchise that has lasted as long as Predator has, the new life Prey has given it begs the question of where Prey 2 could take the story - but the desire for the next chapter among viewers is impossible to deny.

Kid, didn't you see Predator movie, when humans were send to a hunting preserve world, and the guy who survived there for many years said they keep coming back try to hunt him 💀, ofc they come back because they want to hunt the one who hunted their species, not for revenge but bc they are worthy of been hunt, and they only gain respect if they have the mark but they don't ofc bc is a mark for hunting aliens

I think there is some truth to the seeking revenge thing. If i remember right, in the original comics for predator 2, the detective is actually John Schaefer, Dutch's older brother, and the Predators find him when they make New York their hunting ground. Once they figure out he is Dutch's brother they try killing him.

For this movie? Neither. This is a fan trailer. For the actual sequel (if there is one), it will likely be a theatrical release now that Covid isn't an issue and since the first Prey was so popular.

It was a mistake going back to this one. The first Prey set a great precedent in the ability to go from time period to time period Fighting different warrior cultures. Also it's been pretty well established that they don't seek revenge, they honor your skills in combat when you best one of them.

My idea for an AvP3 movie is as follows: Weyland-Yutani has required the Yatuja technology.They have both a bunch of weapons and have captured several ships after setting a trap in the jungle where Weyland-Yutani has discovered that the Yatujas use to hunt human soldiers.They set course for the Yatuja homeplanet. With them they bring robotsoldiers that are like the liquid metal robot seen in the second terminator movie. When they arrive they hides the two spaceship in a forrest close to a Yatuja settlement. When they enters the settlement they discovers that the Yatujas has a lot of xenomorphs contained in big cages. They(Weyland-yutani robots who are imune against the xenomorphs attacks) sets the xenomorphs free.A battle breaks out between the Yatujas and the xenomorphs.Then the xenomorphs manage to kill all of the Yatujas. The Weyland-Yutani robots captures all of the xenomorphs and plans to drop them on an alien planet populated with ugly beings looking a little like monkeys,living like humans did in the stoneage. which they want to clean for later human population. And that sets up the possibility for a fourth movie.

For those wondering why a predator came back. If they are sticking with the history of the yautja then the old woman saying they are back for revenge is incorrect. Predators are not vengeful with prey they honor the prey that defeats one of its own. That honor comes with other predators wanting a chance at the prey that defeated one of their own. Such a prey comes with very high prestige and honor for the predator that defeats it. Predators are not about petty revenge they are hunters who only value the kill that brings them honor and respect within the clan. Anyone who defeats a hunter only moves up further on the ladder of worthy hunts for young and old yautja alike. Essentially you can expect to constantly be bothered by new hunters who have heard of you and now want a chance to end you and claim victory over a worthy prey.
