We Just saw The Grey man and wow, it was a non stop action filled adventure that really kept us on the edge of our seats. James Bond meets fast and the furious, baby! It took everything we love about action films and cranked it up to 11. Now listen, we have heavy spoilers ahead, so please for the love of all things action packed, you have been warned. The Grey man follows secret agent Sierra Six, throw in your best Nikki Sixx Joke here, he’s played by the fantastic Ryan Gosling. as the CIA’s most skilled mercenary. He was let out of jail after the murder of his father, it was justified I promise you. He was then hired by the CIA to become an assassin. Years after his hiring date, he is on a deadly mission in Bangkok where he discovers dark secrets about the CIA and then collects a USB drive of all those secrets. After it is uncovered that Six learned these secrets and has possession of the USB drive, he becomes the primary target and is hunted around the world by a very handsome psychopathic former colleague Lloyd Hansen, played by Chris Evans, and hundreds of other international assassins. There is a lot going on this movie, to a save the girl subplot, movie tropes, and call backs to previous films and entertainment. Let’s take a look at 25 things you might have missed in the action adventure, The Grey man!

Actually a solid film. I'd describe it as a contemporary remake of the 1985 film Commando. Classic 'save the girl by murdering everyone throughout the entire movie' trope. Julia Butters even looks a lot like a young Alyssa Milano.

As someone who read the novel, I was very disappointed that the film didn't have in it the most American sentence ever written in 21st century fiction: "Inside was a Barrett M107, a fifty-caliber rifle that fired shells half the size of beer bottles and dispatched the heavy bullets with a muzzle velocity of nearly nine football fields a second."

Lloyd even said that's why he's private so he can do as he pleases. His words/dialogues shouldn't really matter. If words do, Scorcese is your guy. As for these 2, Adrenaline was the motto for this movie.

As a generic big-budget action movie, I guess it was okay. I'm assuming that those who liked it have never read any of the books, though. The writers clearly didn't. Aside from the title and a few character names, it had almost nothing in common with the books.

Not enough of the gray. Some great callbacks, but I missed the paranoid feel - Gentry sleeping in hotel closets instead of the bed was one, the rope tied to his foot on the train was good. And a feeling was missing on luring Gentry back to the villa. Maybe the long form of the book made it feel more impactful.

The only thing I didn't like about the movie was changing the reason for him being in jail. Made no sense. Killing drug dealers is just as good a motive and keeping his dad as the one who taught him how to shoot at his tactical range would make more sense if they go down the backstory of him as a member of Golf Sierra. Loved the movie though. Can't wait for the next one.
