This simple screw bit organizer stores all your bits neatly. It’s a simple but effective screw bit storage tray that you can make out of scraps. This screw bit holder can be attached to your tool storage wall (french cleat tool wall or other tool wall) very easily.

You can download the template for the layout of the holes from this link: holzhandwerk-ak.de/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/hhw-screwbit-holder-drill-layout.pdf (PDF) -Make sure to print it at 100 % (it will just about fit on A4 paper in portrait mode)

I have an unheated shop and use this little trick to keep the glue and other finishes warm and ready for use. I built a small plywood cabinet and installed a small wattage bulb (25W) that I keep on during the winter. I only keep items that will be used in the near future in the locker. That keeps it small. Nice video!

You're a much more experienced woodworker than I, I reckon, but may I ask/suggest two things that came to mind? Firstly, for drilling the bit-holes: Why no brad point drill bit with a nice and sharp lip on it? You'd not have to worry about unclean holes, I reckon. Secondly: When gluing the paper template onto the blocks, might it be less of a hassle if you used spray glue so you can just pull the paper right off after you're done using it? If any residue remains, a touch of break cleaner would take care of that in a jiffy.

Hi - thanks for your suggestions. About the drills: that’s actually been a blind spot for me for a long time. I‘d never owned brad point drills until recently and they’re still not at the front of my mind for whatever reason. But of course, you’re right. About the spray glue: the only products that I know of here in Germany are for permanent attachment; I’m not aware that such a removable spray glue exists or at least is common. But thanks for the tips!

@@holzhandwerk_ak Every spray glue I've used (in Germany actually, for graphic design, is not truly permanent. Just a mess of you use it lots. Back in the days, when that's how you did layouts, you'd have a dedicated spray glue cabin. :-))

Hi Andreas, great little project, I like it a lot and I wanted to ask you if you have or where did you get the template for the bit layout to print out, did you make it yourself or did you download it, could you please let me know. Thanks for the video.

Try a heat gun to remove your paper. Was that a Brad Point bit or a standard draw? Thanks for the video

Thanks for the tip. The card scraper worked fine, though. It was a standard drill bit.

Thanks. I don’t have pointed drills so it wouldn’t have been easy to centre the drill on the little dent.
