As we have a little bit of a chance to catch our breath around the holidays, I intend to respond to every comment on this video this week. We always read them but can't always take the time to respond. We are so grateful for all the wonderful feedback you've shared over the year and wish you all the most blessed Christmas season!

What a blessing these Old Testament KZfaq videos have been for me and no doubt thousands of others over the past year. Your insights have opened my eyes to how the Lord dealt with his covenant people and how they were blessed when they were obedient, and how patient he was when they were not. And the same goes for the Prophets he called and how he guided them in their callings. Your references and book recommendations have also opened a new world outside my library of over 2,000 LDS books. I have purchased many of your recommended books, i.e. Tikva Frymer-Kensky's book on Reading the Women of the Bible and, Misreading Scripture with Western Eyes by Richards and O'Brien. These books and many others have given me insights into the Old Testament that I had never considered. It's also a blessing to go back through the GC talks you recommend and print them out and read and reference them on specific gospel topics. Although it's the end of the Old Testament I am really looking forward to your video of the 400 plus years between the Old and New Testaments. There are Biblical and Historical books written on this time period but I'm looking forward to your insights and perspectives. I can't imagine the hundreds if not thousands of hours you dedicate every year to bless our lives with these videos. Thank you for what you do, and am looking forward to the new year of New Testament videos.

I am SO excited that you got the Frymer-Kensky book! We are never really sure if anyone is interested in those kinds of recommendations but I'm so glad you found them helpful - especially the GC talks. Thank you so much for your comments - they mean a lot! Hope you like the Intertestamental video. Let us know if it was helpful.

Thank you both so much for all your time and sacrifice to share your gospel knowledge and insights and testimonies with thousands, including me. I have listened to you for almost 3 years, learned much. I now love the old testament and even Isaiah at 80 years old. My love for and relationship to my Savior increased dramatically this year. May God bless you both and your families.❤

I totally love the way you teach. I'm so blessed to have found you for my scripture study. I've been reading the bible, Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants and the The Peral of Great Price every 4 years (with the church) since the 80's. I've learned a lot as I've read but the past 4 years has greatly MULTIPLIED what I learned on my own. I'm so thankful for the Come Follow Me and you good brothers brought so much to light for me. Thanks for being amazing

Great work as usual. I can personally say my testimony has strengthened since I found you all in Isaiah and it has been great. Do you have any insight or reference why Malachi 4:2 used the word Sun instead of Son? Certainly our Savior is the source of all light. It's just in all other instances I can recall of this phrase, it's Son.
@brotherfullmer
@brotherfullmer Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the encouraging words. Great question on Malachi 4:2. We didn't get into that because I haven't found any commentary that seems certain why Malachi uses that distinctive phrase. Some have said there are other ways to translate it but every translation I've checked uses "Sun". So, I really like your thoughts and would just add to it by sharing some great imagery from Isaiah 60:1-2, 19 describing Christ in a "sun" type way. 1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
