In order to make the installation and use tutorial easier to understand, please open the subtitles in the settings and automatically translate.
📌Note: If you have already calibrated the camera, please do not move the position of the camera nor change the height of the camera.
When calibrating, the light source should be sufficient, not one-sided light. If used in an enclosure, lights are required on all sides. It is also possible to calibrate the camera outside the enclosure. Just remember when placing the enclosure, be careful not to move the camera.
*The laser engraving machine must have a limit switch and ensure that the limit function is turned on.

1. You must use the limit switch function to confirm the coordinates. 3:33
2. You must confirm that the setting area is correct, it does not exceed the maximum use area, otherwise the mobile axis impact carving opportunity will make the coordinates error. 3:46
3. The 383*375 in the video is actually wrong. After focusing, the laser head drops, and the screw on the right side of the laser head will hit the screw on the carved machine. In fact, it is 381*375. 3:46
4. The camera center can be roughly aligned with work plane center, which may not have a large impact on accuracy. 4:09
5. CAM500 is a manual focus lens. The focusing distance set when leaving the factory is 325mm. 5:20
6. Calibrate Camera Lens is to correct lens distortion and perspective. You should try to ensure that the dots can cover the edge of the working range, otherwise the error of the edge may be relatively large. You can change different methods to try a few more times. 6:00
7. There is a gap between the inner side of the laser and the backplane, which can be shaken left and right. This will affect the accuracy. Each focus may cause an error. You better fit the backplane of the laser every time.
8. Calibrate Camera Alignment is to match the screen of the camera and the coordinate of the carving machine. Before starting this step, you must be reset. 8:16

10. If you think the precision of the edges is poor, you need to re -Calibrate Camera Lens. If you think the accuracy of the edge is okay, but if you want to change the height of alignment, you can execute the Calibrate Camera Alignment separately
11. 12:18 The accuracy of the lower right corner is slightly a little error, which is caused by the poor effect of Calibrate Camera Lens. In actual work, you can avoid this position
12. The camera will be exposed automatically. Add white card paper to the screen to reduce the exposure. Add black card paper to brighten the exposure. Or you can manually control the exposure
📌Tips:
(Step idle delay (ms) ($1)，$=255) can lock the motor, ($=25) can unlock the motor. 15:02
Setting the Return to Finish Position is very helpful, making it easy to place the workpiece and avoid obstructing the camera's field of view. 15:22

3:48 Modify the parameters in the red box， The working size of S30Pro in the video is 383 * 375, which is incorrect. In fact, it is 381 * 375. If the position of your limit switch is different from what I installed, then you need to measure it yourself.

@5:18 the camera is already at the center after some adjustments...but soon after we are instructed to adjust the height to within 325-330mm wich brings the camera out of the center... what gives?

it will work with any size. Just the usable area of the camera is about 400x400. You increase it (mount the camera higher) but the quality will decrease accordingly. Use a bed size of what ever you want and take the area of 400x400 as camera enabled area.

hi, i bought a sculpfun 500 and i mounted on AREA extention kit S30 (950*410). i installed the camere near the mother board, but i see the image in the middle of the cutting area and not in the bottom posizion (0,0). how can i do to move the image from the middle are cutting versus the origin? tx in advance

Do I have to recalibrate the camera in Lightburn everytime I work on a worpiece with different height? Or after first calibration just adjust the camera height to 330mm from camera to surface workpiece?

Hi, i hope you can help me out. I have a S30 Ultra, wich is a 600x600mm working area and i am trying to instal my CAM500 and it captures the 400x400mm middle top of my honeycumb board but when i am about to do the camera alignment and i frame the area before i engrave, the laser frames the middle of my honeycumb board and not the top 400x400 area that the camera captures. How can i finish the installation of my camera with this problem?. Could you post a video with the callibration of the CAM500 on a laser with bigger working area that 400x400mm? Thanks for your time.

yes same problem here. It says suits S30 Ultra so i purchased one. No it doesn't adjust properly to work area so am going to have to modify the mounting to make it suitable. should have saved money and made my own cheaper.

@peterbraid2975 I thought it could be a problem, and surely enough it was. ... I'm using a quickly assembled extension with a few planks and will test if that works. I should have known that even though @SCULPFUNreal say it is compatible that it would extend beyond 400x400. I bought it for the elegance, now look at my Frankesteincamera ...

@@user-jh1mq2ih2u kinda. It's dumb that they didn't make it just like 10cm bigger. Haven't made a proper extension. But it holds, I wouldn't recommend. If you have to diy it anyway, one could as well just buy a high quality webcam and make a custom fixture. What's important is that the camera's position to the frame doesn't change. Otherwise it's not super accurate.

It looks like it's possible to also use a regular digital camera/web cam- would I be correct to assume this? I do plan to get this kit here once I have a bit of extra Money, it looks way more convenient than any home solution I would put together. Also, does this cover the full size of the expansion kit work area (900x900mm)? If not can it be custom extended to sit higher and give a wider viewing area?

1- You must have a L-Shape feet to bolt and mount to the workbench 2- You must have spaces (aluminum) around the honeycomb + L-shape to also fasten the honeycomb. Either you provide the L-Shapes braces + screws or replace the legs for everyone who wants this (extra cost).. Otherwise, it will not be accurate when its moved! 3- What about the enclosure? It will be blocked.. So you should also have a solution to use the camera with it too... It will be easier to add the camera to the enclosure by changing the height and location of the frame braces. 4- Add LED for better picture and capture options 5- You may need to suggest and add USB Bridge because some old notebooks have only 2 USBs- Mouse, Laser, and now Camera!

You don't need to fix the engraving machine. After the camera completes the Calibrate Camera Alignment, the engraving machine can be moved. You need to ensure that the camera is not moved in its position on the engraving machine

I bought this camera months ago and watched every video especially this one, spent many hours many days calibrating and trying absolutely everything in detail in this video and still can't get accuracy. The company won't ever reply to me so I cannot recommend this product.

I just acquired a S30 Ultra-22W Laser and the CAM500, the laser has a 600x600 mm work area, but guess what ? the camera frame-arm is just 35cm, so when i home the laser to 0,0 limit the center of the working area can´t be reached by the camera arm so it´s imposible to configure it. You should specify that this camera is only for smaller frames or replace to all the owners of the camera with frames bigger a new arm or refund our money. Oh and if you use MAC OS you can´t configure it because there isn´t any app that can move the bright or contrast of the camera and display grids as the video (believe me i just downloaded 10 different app and no one has this functions) and even if any app has the functions the width of the arm would never reach the center of the working area. Awful

The camera functionality is a software issues when it comes to control settings like brightness and darkness not the camera itself and yes they should disclose that it won’t work on the ultra models as far detecting the whole bed
