Sorry for all the comments- but I'm at the end now and I LOVE HER! I usually make completely stuffed plushies, but the posable element is so so cute and the blending of fabric and painted clay is SO COOL. Can't wait for Mama Tops. Side note- the paint job is giving me nostalgia of these really cool ornate blue tiles my grandma had as a kid, and it makes me happy 😊

I love all the comments! Thank you! I was just thinking the other day about some childhood toys that were posable plushies and it made me really nostalgic, they were fun 2 play with. Also: tiles, and blue china said another person, it's funny how a pattern that I thought came off as childlike at first (on fabric), when painting is grandmotherly! I like the comparisons though!

Thanks!!! i think the paint took work but was worth it, and the beads added detail with less effort than expected!

I just stumbled upon your work, and I love it... but I don't understand how you say you aren't experienced with sewing and painting and yet here you are going strong and hard with both.

haha thank you!! clearly my plan to trick people into thinking i know what im doing is working! tbh I mostly just want to clarify im unpracticed at these b/c im sure any seamstress who sees some of the stuff ive made would cringe, so i dont want to imply im an expert or to copy exactly what I do!

Tip for sewing legs that might be helpful - I see a lot of people the underside of the legs/belly piece to the top first, and have the top of the legs as separate pieces entirely or just leave the sewing of those til later if you don't want them to be completely separate. I can't quite see how you fit the legs together, but depending on the curve of where the leg meets the body, you get very different leg positions when completely stuffing a plush, so I imagine if it felt weird on the armature, that could be why.

Ooooo hmm thats probably a good idea! There was a lot of futzing off camera and redoing of certain parts 😅 ; i mostly watch doll tutorials and i was wayyy out of my element. I tried sewing all the way around the top and bottom with just a ladder stitch but i was trying to keep some puffiness on the tops of the legs, which i didnt plan out well so theyre a lil uneven. I think sewing the top of the legs on later definitely sounds like a better move! I was also thinking to sew the top and bottom sides/ tail together off the doll and sew the legs on while its on the doll? The sculpting on the adult should be able to be maneuvered through some gaps, as long as i close the legs last..

@@art-eroflore if you want to try to see if it'll fit, you can always pin them together and try, so if the legs don't fit through at least you don't have to rip your seams!

@@art-eroflore you know it wouldn't hurt, lol. I already have most of the stuff to do it if not all. It's not like I'll have to go out and get more stuff, lol. I don't have a craft room. Everything is in my bedroom and it's a mess.

@@terilew1 Well I don't have a craft room and my living room is a mess! I just hog one corner of it. Honestly i started my first doll bc i realized "oh i actually do have all the materials to make a doll i guess"! I'm not very organized myself but I have a few boxes and a "current projects" box so I can always put something away if I need the space.
