I would very much like to see a retopology as well as texturing tutorial. I did like this new format it works well with sculpting because your still clearly stating what you are doing but its also easy to see and doesnt require knowing a buncb of shortcut keys unlike something like building a scene or something

Those texture brushes are super cool, seems like the sort of sculpt tool you could apply to just about any model for some added detail.

I really like what you've done here and will definitely be giving this a go - although what took you 45 minutes will take me a week surely. As for video style - I like the slower style always, but having said that, I think you have got the balance here just right (but I'll know better when I begin following along a little later).

Never have I seen someone use the Draw brush this much, truly under-rated. In regards to this style or follow along. I'd say a bit of both. Personally I am not going to make a dragon but the gnome is something that I definitely did, but still learned a lot from this video too. So I would say a bit of both would be ideal.

Really enjoyed this, thanks Grant. I don't think a step-by-step would work on something complex like this. It's more a case of using some artistic style and creativity to create the "right" or rather "intended" shapes/creatures/characters. But I do really enjoy you showing us your workflow and how you go from basic shape to an impressive dragon.

I love how this comes out just after I finished my big dragon sculpt. I would say there are some structural problems anatomically wise that makes it look a little.. odd? Like how the lower end of the skull, the throat area should connect to the neck and stuff like that. As well as more structure to the lower jaw. Other than that this looks great!

format is great! Just started with sculpting and realized follow along tutorials is just not practical for this as it's always going to end up very different anyways. But quick insight into the process and tool use like this is very useful! Rigging, texturing and shading and such could be follow along though

Thank you for all that you do for the still-learning members of the Blender community, Mr. Abbitt. I would personally love to see a video on texturing for this, along with retopology myself. Also, if you're ever up for suggestions for a sculpt in something similar to this, I think a werewolf upper body/head or bust would be really interesting. Perhaps even moreso with Halloween on the approach. But either way, thanks again for all of the video lessons and tutorials.

Oh nice! I realized I'm already mostly doing things the same as you, except I've never tried making seperate sub-objects like the teeth, and i'm only just getting into using multires detail sculpting (so far only after retopo) and still need to get alpha brushes. I would love to see your complex object retopo too ^^

One thing no one ever seems to mention with multires modifiers: Be careful if you intend to use shape keys with your model; multires modifiers do NOT work with shape keys. If you intend to use your model for animating or posing and you want to use shape keys, and you do any sculpting on your multires modifier, make sure you apply multires and retopologize first!

Timelapse with commentary is always better. And would definitely love a texturing and retopology vid. Also, why do we need to retopologize? Can we not just rig the sculpt directly, and Why do UV unwrap the sculpt for texturing, and not directly start painting. I guess these are dumb questions but I couldn't find much light on it on the internet
