Thank you, I hadn't made a big foam base in a while. I picked up some new tools to work with it. Last time, I just had some real crude diy foam cutters so I decided to spurge for this. It's fun stuff to work with but definitely need a respirator mask because of the fumes!

@@SculptureGeek Yessir! I think I've bought every tutorial you've made, including a copy of your eye cast that I still use as reference all the time. Do you have any plans for future tutorials? I would love to see a tutorial similar to this Angry Birds project in which you describe how and why you do what you do and use the materials you use. I am primarily a digital artist now, but I'd love to learn how to doctor up my 3d prints with paint and a base/diorama like this to put it in. There's a serious shortage of *quality,* concise, straightforward information online about these kinds of workflows (from my vantage point at least) and I think if you were to make a tutorial like this it would sell really well. :)

Thank you! It was a tall order with a pretty tight deadline. I dropped everything else to jump on this. Always loved Angry Birds so it was a treat. I don’t normally do large involved bases for YT so I thought it would be cool to make some terrain with it. They wanted both the movie version of Red and the classic version of characters so this was what I came up with. I’m just glad those level pieces worked out. They were all pinned and glued and actually pretty sturdy once they were assembled. I even knocked a lamp into them and they held up lol!

Awesome!! Actually always wanted to make a Kirby, myself. Yeah big round clean shapes can be tricky. I would use a slick to scrape and clean and do most of the work. Take a look at some automotive car sculpting videos- they pretty ouch specialize in large round clean shapes. Most of it is done with slicks. Got me wanting to sculpt Kirby now lol.
