In this Sculpting For Professionals video we're going to show you a fun project done collaboratively with friends. The project was carried out in Pal Tiya International Co-Founder Kim Beaton's Studio.
Pal Tiya Premium is a great sculpting medium for professionals and as you'll see from the video this was a very exciting project for them!
The project used just 3 and a half Standard Sized bags of Pal Tiya Premium (40lb per bag) and to weight it down, we poured 60lbs of just normal concrete into the base so it stands proud.
We had a GREAT team who all brought their amazing skills. Chris Menges even made gorgeous custom brass pieces for the sculpture and it was a bunch of FUN!

How did you reattach the ears?

Emily Elliott Reattaching the ears was easy. The holes in the head were etched with grooves as were the base of the ears. Since the headband had not been put on, we had access to the inside. We positioned the ears, tacked them with hot glue, then firmly secured them with crumpled foil balls. The area was dampened with water and PTP was then applied to the seam inside and out 👍🏼

What would happen if you just left the foil and foam armature in it?

Also curious?

The foil would eventually break down inside and the foam would just be inside and stay there.
