It feels so good to be back! Today I’m making Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Watch me create her armature and sculpt her from polymer clay and paint her with acrylic paints. She was definitely my most difficult sculpt of this year but I had a blast nonetheless.

They'd be so frickin adorable! Especially with the giant sack they used to kidnap Santa Claus. Like they're all three holding the bag about to jump him. Either that, or maybe them riding around in the bathtub, that was pretty cool too. ❤️💜💚

Personally I think of it as a Christmas movie and never watch it in October. I don't mind some spookiness at Christmastime, but I get actively annoyed by Christmas stuff during Halloween time (like when stores start putting out Christmas merch before Halloween has even come and gone).

The intro song takes place on Halloween meaning the rest takes place in November and December, so technically we should be arguing wether it’s thanksgiving or Christmas movie. But it never takes place on halloween therefore it’s Christmas

The torso mannequins you mentioned are called dress forms. She turned out amazingly! I would be so nervous painting those dress details.

Ace, I am so happy you are back in your element, and I am so happy you took so much time on her. Just wait till you sculpt from the Corpse Bride!! Those characters too will test your skills with proportion and detail. They look all simple but uh no. Same with the James and the Giant Peach characters. I am so happy to see you back challenging yourself again! Tim Burton would be proud!! Your characters turned out fantastic.

I think It's a great movie about someone who discovers the joy of giving but doesn't quite understand it. He loves Halloween and is great at it. When we give gifts it should be something that the other person wants and likes, not what we like. It's very sweet.

You can use a dremel to carve the scars into the legs. I use one on some of my pieces for various things

WOW!! That Sally is perfect. You should really do some of the characters from Haunted Mansion Holiday, it has all of the Nightmare Before Christmas characters but with some other ones too with different designs. It’s super cool.

I have been looking forward to this video for a while now, and I do know that it’ll be WAY better then my Sally, I’ve only just started to dabble with clay, it’s usually not what I go for first when I craft, but I really wanted to try something new.. I did Jack as well.. Can’t wait to watch..I just got home from work.. This is going to be my relaxing binge, just finished watching NerdEcrafter and Moriah.. The Nightmare Before Christmas 🎄 is neither Christmas 🎄 nor Halloween 🎃 movie 🎬. It is a lovely claymation very sweet, dark 🔦 Rom-Com. Whatever type of movie 🎬 you want categorize Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas 🎄 I think we can all agree that it is an amazing visual experience! Ace without looking at her legs. I think you did a great job.

The nightmare before christmas is a halloween-christmas mix. It was made because stores always had christmas stuff out at halloween. It was a playoff of that because christmas was taking over halloween and jack was "lacking inspiration" because the halloween stuff is overlooked. I love your sculptures of them because it is my favorite movie as well.

Omg, Ace I LOVE her! Sally looks drop dead gorgeus. 😍 If you put Jack ans Sally on the same stand could you pretty please ad Zero? It would complete the image I belive.

A quick fix for the leg stitches: Use a very fine, very sharp chisel or linoleum knife to add the cuts. If you need a clay medium to add detail I strongly suggest green stuff or milliput, which are apoxy clays that wouldn’t require baking and can be easily painted over. Awesome piece as always and worth the wait!

I'm a NBC collector, and I can tell you that your sculpt is better than some pricey collectibles out there! I really appreciate the movie accurate coloring, too. I hope you decide to do many more characters in the movie too!
