Didn’t Anheuser-Busch InBev come out with some guff about how Stella Artois’ lowering to 4.6% was to ‘get in line’ with the U.K.’s push towards ‘healthier living’? Whether it’s about the health, taxes, or both!, it’s bloody annoying now! Thanks for taking a bullet for the team, Adam! Mercifully, I have a feeling you’ll still be able to find the 5% version, as I’m sure there’s plenty of cans still to be sold! We’ll just have to check the dodgy off-licences!

Stella Unfiltered and Budvar tend to be the Supermarket canned lagers I'd go for. Maybe do vs videos comparing them to Brewdog Lost lager? You are spot on calling out Kroenbourg!

Thanks to your videos I now check 'exotic' lagers to see if they were brewed in the UK. If they are, I don't buy them. Doing great work mate 👍

I feel like a lot of UK sold beers are now becoming lower. Fosters has just hit the 3.something% mark, Kronie is now 4.6% and the classic "wife beater" stella, renonwed for being a strong lager is below 5%. Even the specials brews which are infamous for their ludicrous % have dialed back. It is something across the board. It has to be tax related, but it is upsetting to see when the stronger lagers we have known to love and rely on become the same piss water we once used to the mick out of like Bud and Coors light.

How many 3.4% to 4.6% beers do we need most them taste the exact same and brewed in the uk.

Its a shame really because when i first started drinking in pubs we would always make a b line for the one that stocked Kronenberg , holston pils or Stella because they were foreign and seemed a bit exotic, not to mention they were much stronger than the usual slop they had to offer. I havnt had any Kronenberg for a couple of years but recall it tasted very metallic and not a patch on the nectar i remember.

Its 100% tax reasons for the UK, Stella 5.2 was ruined and im drinking this now (Kronenburg) and only just realized its changed. I drank Kronenburg in Paris yrs ago was the best pint ever.

Another good video, I enjoy the scumbag/ vs videos. In your opinion what's the best uk brewed lager that's not been lowered yet? San Miguel, Holsten pills, Heinken, Carlsberg Export or as you said Brewdog lost just to name a few? Haven't tried Brewdog lost so might give it a go. But saying that I could just stick to Steinhauser lol. Keep up the good work.

Hi mate, could you do a review of the Perlenbacher Pils from Lidl? It used to be 4.8% but its now been lowered to 4.5%. Its still a good beer, but would be good to see your thoughts on it 👍

Will you be reviewing the Kronenbourg Blanc at somepoint?

What's happened is Heineken brewed the UK version when it was 5% but now Carlsberg Marstons have purchased the UK license and brought out the 4.6% version.

5% version is crisp, refreshing and energetic when 4,6% is softer, creamier, lighter less exciting, taste like completely different beer.

Great video Adam, and thanks for continuing to highlight how the megabreweries are killing high street lagers off one by one. Bought a case of British made Utopian lager the other day ~ Far better than most of the mainstream crap now produced!!

I hate to say this but its just a subtle way of doing here whats happening in Scotland they"re just being a bit sly with it but i agree with you just boycott the beers it applies to they will think again when sales drop.

I have enjoyed Kronenbourg 1664 for many years. Its the ONLY beer I liked. The new stuff "Biere Blanc" tastes like tapwater. And I hate the taste of tapwater. I feel utterly betrayed by the damn mercenary capitalists who just want to make their profits by messing about with the good stuff we plain ordinary people like. It is deceitful to use the same name but put a different product in the can. 1664 is now permanently OFF my shopping list. Please can anyone recommend a similar tasting replacement ? I've just sent Carlsberg an email saying how rubbish it is and i like many others won't buy this anymore. Needed a rant !

Our favourite beer for years.now ruined. We will not be buying it again.

I noticed the cans the other day made me suspicious when I couldn't find the abv anywhere on the can. I boycotted stella when they moved to 4.6 and now will do the same with this shit. Looks like staple buy now will be San miguel

There's no way I'll ever buy a lowered ABV beer ever again. I can't believe what AB Inbev did to Leffe. I haven't touched a single beer owned by Inbev since.

British brewed lager it's rubbish.If you whant a true lager just go for beers that are imported from Germany,or drink Samuel Smith organic pure brew lager which is super good
