To add to my other comment re the 3M VHB tape. Since the body can shift on the mag mounts and sit cockeyed, I was thinking one could get some plastic or aluminum hobby tube that the mag just fits inside of. Cut a slice of the tube so it's a mm or two taller than the mag. Smear some epoxy on the inside of the tube. Place the tube down on some wax paper and drop the mag in. Just enough epoxy to keep it in with out squeezing up over the mag and interfering with it sitting flat on the bolt once dry. Use a q-tip with acetone to wipe off excess squeeze out. Then epoxy this to the body (or use the VHB tape. Test the epoxy on the body first to make sure it doesn't warp/dissolve it). Use a bolt/nail head on the chassis posts that's just smaller then the tube ID so there's minimal play. The over depth of the tube will keep your body centered with out having to muck with it. If the tube and mag are a nice close fit, CA glue would work in place of epoxy. Tube should be non-magnetic or your gonna have a bear of a time getting the mag inside it! LOL! :)

I've played with printing keyed mounts like that, and it helps keep the body very stable.

Love this, thanks! Lots of ways to do it, and I enjoy seeing what other people come up with. I'll definitely try using tape and glue on some upcoming builds. I tend to use e6000 for this, since i've had issues with hot glue coming off, and paint damage. Hot glue is much more appealing though, for short set time. I've also used double sided tape with printed magnet holders, and magnets to steel strips glued on.

We just tried using e6000 in out recent video doing magnets in the Max Smasher and it didn’t work well, so hot glue it was. Lol.

3M VHB tape. Comes in 1/2" w. rolls. It's what is used to mount trim on car exteriors. Clean both parts well with alcohol before hand. You could place the mag's on your bolt heads w/ the small pieces of the VHB tape on the side facing up. Carefully lower the body down on the back hinge, keeping it centered. Press down on the tape/mag's. Done like dinner. Could do the front and back that way at the same time, using the hinge to help keep things centered, then after remove the hinge. :)

@@TheShopMiniRC I did it for a project for a client years ago with 1" mag's and aluminum tube slices. But can't for the life of me remember what the project was?!?! Probably 15+ years ago. LOL!

Thanks! You could use super glue, I’ve just found that it breaks/cracks off easily. I am really liking e6000 or shoe goo now.

Hi. I use magnets on my trx4s and when I'm fixing from post to body I always put a piece of card between the magnets. Card thickness probably 1mm thick and that way when glue has set the magnets come apart very easily. Will work on all scales not just 1/10 or 1/24.
