(SD) WPVI - 2010 - Full Close

Not my capture, but I've been given permission to upload this.
People have been wondering if Charlie Van Dyke recorded a new closing announcement to go along with the new opens. The answer is yes. Thankfully, Charlie uses the same announcement Jeff had been using in his last couple of years, complete with a "From Channel 6" line (instead of the now-standard "6ABC".)
This clip also demonstrates the station's love of real-time chrome 3D text, and their depressing lack of ideas for closing shots these days (really? a parked car? You can do better, WPVI...)

Maybe WPVI wanted to show the peaceful countryside to accompany the singers, or give a comparison to today's hectic lifestyle.

No, no, you're not. I will always prefer the traditional close to the sponsorship version. I TOLERATE the sponsorship thing, though, because it usually means we get to hear a good chunk of the theme at the end of the broadcast - something we weren't getting for quite some time before they started that.

And this theme is now 50 years old, and we need a flipping documentary on it to celebrate it's iconic legacy.

@@HulkieD not you, I'm talking about channel 6 themselves. They've done a 50 years of Action News program. So why not have them celebrate 50 years of that theme tune.

It's weird, I can't find a single video on KZfaq of the old full close... This IS pretty good, but I wish I could find the other one right now for comparison.
