Greetings from Surabaya, Indonesia.
I have been searching around for years about lion dance-things, and I know that 'how to build the lion dance head'becomes one interesting topic for many people and there's quite rare videoclip about that specific subject.
So, I am planning to make a new series under Lion Head Making. Although this is just quick overview about lion head making, I will try to make interesting videoclips.
Lion Head Making will need an understanding about lion dance-the head in whole view like: front view; side view; rear view; or even angled view. Hi. Can you please make a list of all the materials and tell me how many meters of rattan core do I need to make onde Lion head? I'm from a Kung Fu school here in Brazil and I'm in need of learning how to make a Lion head.

In the video I had mentioned that I didn't use any specific measurement for the framework, I used my imagination based on my book: Lion Dance Drawing. You can find a friend from Facebook: Taokuen Luis. He made lions; big or small ones. His old fotos tell.

What makes the eyes open without touching it ???

The eyelids(the wire loop inside the head)'re tied to the framework using elastic. Then a rope's set thru the above wire loop so when we pull down the rope, the eyelid's closed

where did you get the rattan from?

+Alton Chan From a store that sells rattan basket for parcel or such. I must order first; maybe they also found the specific mm thick from the factory's leftover. Must buy at least 3 or 5 kg or whatever available stock :-(
