This mic sounds incredible on your voice James! You found THE MIC my friend 👍 not gonna lie, I still prefer the low end on the NT1 (at least when hearing with headphones) but regardless both sound great!

T2 sounds absolutely amazing. I'm also fond of their Voodoo VR1 because I like how ribbon mics sound like. Nice review, James.

This is an incredibly detailed review, which I love. The T2 sounds great for sure, but I'd probably still go for the NT1 myself because I'm a cheapskate LOL

Thank you! And I totally get it! I still love the extra low end you get with the NT1 and like I said, I'll always recommend it. Can't beat the price/quality!

I could hear the ever-so-subtle boost in brightness of A, so, I knew that must be the T2 (cos I know how you ❤️ that 😁).

wow it sounds fantastic on your voice! now SE just launched 4100 and t1 - new mics without plethora of polar patterns but with the same capsules as 4400 and t2. And they are 150$ cheaper. I would be very much interested on your opinion how do they compare on voice, and which one is better for voice-over/live applications?

Hopefully I can review them soon, but if it's all the same (minus the polar patterns) I'd say they're probably perfect for VO :) But I gotta review them to be 100% sure

The sE Electronics T1 is basically the same mic, right... just with less switches? Also, have you tried the Lewitt LCT 440 Pure?

According to sE Electronics yes, the T1 & T2 are the same, other than the bells and whistles.

Hey man. Nice review. Sounds good, but ask them to send you a 4400a... extremely similar sound profile, but less hyped top end. I have a feeling you might like it EVEN more! Only thing I don't love about the SE mics is the self noise level, but it's not a deal breaker I suppose. Cheers

I'll see if I can get them to! You're right, I might like it even more! So far ,I haven't had a self noise issue with the sE mics I've reviewed but I've only reviewed 3 so far.

And dare I say it when you've just made this monumental declaration regarding your new fav mic, but the mic I imagine you would ultimately declare is THE ONE, could be the Vanguard V13 Gen2. See if you can try one of those and compare. But the sE s are a great sound and size, for sure.

@@matthewwolf1793 While I bet the Vanguard V13 Gen2 sounds incredible, it's over a grand. I typically try to stay below $500 to $600 on the high end, because I know most of my viewers realistically want to stay even below that metric. I mean, don't get me wrong I would love to try it out and own one, but I know the vast majority of my viewers would find that video pointless.

У него лучше детализация. Более выраженные транзиенты. У меня есть оба эти микрофона. NT1 хорош на бэк вокале.

The T2 is clearer to my ears without losing too much of the low end. You can always add warmth and saturation to mic but it's harder to add clarity afterwards. T2 for the win!

LOLI hear ya. It sounds great, but it's the multiple polar patters, 2 low cut filters & 2 pad switches that make it so much more expensive. It's like a swiss army knife of mics in that way.

Absolutely, they can sound quite similar to the untrained ear! I'm actually releasing a video in the coming weeks that highlights the importance of ear training. I share a great story about an intern at an ADR recording studio who initially couldn't distinguish between the different mics they used at the studio. But after just a few months of dedicated ear training, the differences became so clear to him that he was amazed he couldn't tell them apart just a few months earlier. It's incredible how much ear training can enhance your listening skills!
