A true story of me and my ISTJ ex-housemate. (Note: our difference in functions was not the reason she is now my ex-housemate.)

Since I have inferior Si, I have a hard time grasping it and comparing it against Se. Therefore, I was somewhat confused in this video, because it seemed to me the Se user had it as an inferior function, and the Si user seemed to me as a Te user 😅. Can someone explain to me better this video? ó.ò

And it doesn’t even matter where Si or Se are in the cognitive stack. Si users in my life are CONSTANTLY bamboozled by my improvisational nonsense.

You're now committed to a series. Ne/Ni, Se/Ni, Se/Ne....you get the idea. I would type all the combination but I'm fighting with my autocorrect too much.

This was very amusing. I'm an INTJ (Te + Se), and I think this is how my ISFJ mom (Si + Ti) sees me. I recall one time when I had made a croissant sandwich, and it didn't fit in the container I wanted to use. So, I simply bit off the small end of the sandwich - and boom, it fit. Watching this, my mom scoffed and said "well that's one way to do it!" She probably would have just sized up on the container, but I didn't care to do that because I wanted to be efficient. We will have small arguments over insignificant things such as this, and this video helped put into perspective how ridiculously random she might find my methods 😂

FINALLY, a real representation of Se that shows our actual clumsiness 🥲

I'm an INTP (tertiary Si) and my dad, who I live with, is an ISFP (auxiliary Se). One of the most classic examples of this kind of thing with us is his habit of leaving his shoes in the middle of the hallway. Both of us keep tripping over them and, I always ask him why he doesn't just kick his shoes to one side when he takes them off; and, he always responds that he likes to keep them in the hallway so that he can just slip into them as he walks past. I'm just like, "but then you have to step over them every time you don't want to put them on and are just risking tripping over them." and he just shrugs his shoulders and is like "well, whatever."

As an esfj, I can confirm this is how I feel watching Se doms (and also Ne doms) live their lives 😅

My quick method for identifying which Sensing function someone prefers is to determine whether they care more about physical comfort (Si) or physical stimulation (Se). It's not perfect, but I find it to be accurate about 70% of the time.

I'm an ISFJ, and my baby sister is an ISFP. For me, our other functions feel more different than the Si vs Se ones. We can both be meticulous, careful, and thorough. But her's comes more naturally; when she's cooking a new recipe, she's fluidly handling checking each step while also managing to cook well. I find myself very clunky with something new, and have to do each step more slowly. However, when it is a tried and true recipe, I can be even smoother than she is because I don't become overly nitpicky about the process (I blame inferior Te).

as an ISTP I have & do associate with both of these actions/reactions. When I'm watching other ppl do things, I think & behave like the Si; but when I'm dealing with my own stuff, I'm the Se, lol - picking up whatever tool is useful in the moment, but then afterward, I'll think, well, maybe that wasn't the smartest thing, lol. So for those who have been confused by this, it's one thing to react & live in the moment, it's another to actually THINK about it, lol. While my 1st reaction to this video was "that doesn't make sense," I thought about how I deal with things in the real world, in the now, and it does make sense. Plus I'm a Gemini, so we've got dual aspects of everything anyway, lol (unpack that, lol)

Well as an ENFP this is like the two sides of me in my head- Except instead of being on my phone I’d straight up be day dreaming (though I don’t use straighteners so) and then I’d burn my hair. But Si is what makes me go hey you need to take a step back and look at the reality of this now. It can look like being at school and getting very distracted while talking about an idea and being like “ooh another thing” but Si is the one (promoted by Te) that goes “ok now you need to get things done” and saying to other people “ok maybe we should focus now, and get something done” or the one that is like “maybe take those 4 glasses downstairs” and to others it can just look like me actually doing something to organise myself, it’s also the part of me that is like “omg you have a headache what if you’re dying” before realising I haven’t drank anything all day (regular occurrence).

As an ISFJ I was cringing the entire time. I could just feel the irritation coming from the Si user, so good job lol!
