The everything rig- Double your chances with the Wessex rig that is half pulley half ledgering rig. Good for boat and beach. Should only take you a few minutes to tie (my record is 2 minutes 4 seconds !)
Hope you enjoy the video we've had a lot of new subscribers recently from the States and ill be interested to know what rigs we use over here in the U.K will be useful there.

The rig can be used for catching large and smaller fish. Put a large hook on the bottom, 2.0 or 3.0 and a smaller hook on the upper snood, 1.0 This increases the chance of catching a variety of fish at different sizes. Great video the static diagram is a nice touch.

Done the night fish at the mersey by Brunswick dock on Friday 2300 to 0430 two rods one with a pulley rig and one with the Wessex rig . Only got two whiting all night . One on each rod. Got the whiting on the bottom hook on the Wessex rig with worm. And man it was cold.

Hi there just found your videos finding them very helpful. Whats the reason behind the top swivel being able to slide? Like most people im using long pulleys and clipped down rigs but feel a running rig would be very useful as lots of bass on the beach i fish atm unfortunately not had one yet Tia

Cheers Richard generally I think of it as letting a fish take the bait without feeling tension and when you retrieve the rig it lifts the lead up a bit from the seabed to avoid snags. There’s some evidence to say it also presents the bait better further away from the lead. I noticed smoothounds and thornback don’t seem to like the spikey lead and we seem to catch more on a pulley rig of some sort as it keeps them further away with a longer snood in effect

Silly question from a silly guy. After a long break from sea fishing I'll be honest I don't remember most of the rigs and how to tie, which is why I'm here but then again my dad did most of them also If the line is okay whilest tieng the knot what is the point in crimps? Sorry I'm just trying to work out what I need now what I don't need and what I need to spend Cheers

Not a silly question! The crimps perform the function of holding a bead in position. You can use a stop knot or powergum too

O right okay cheers for the explanation I'll give it ago sometime this week when I can get to a tackle shop also nice 1at the speedy response to the message, you must of the the quickest I've seen for a long time. Tight lines
