Umibudo, also known as sea grapes, is a seaweed that grows in the Indo-Pacific consisting of tiny green bubbles that burst when you bite them. Big thanks to Paul for finding these and sending them to me all the way from Japan. 🙏 New videos every Thursday and Saturday 8 pm EST.

I live in an island in the Philippines and I used to just swim to the sea and pull that from sea rocks or corals. My family would then eat it as is or dip it in vinegar. I didn't know it's called sea grapes or umibudou. We call it lato. This is a cool video. 🙂

Yeah, people like giving things unrelated names, for some reason. They fit but are usually very deceptive. Take sweet potatoes, for example; they're called potatoes because they look like them but, as you may or may not know, they're actually squash. Kind of annoying, if you ask me.

Actually, they're often mislablled as 'yam' in North America, but they are in fact a tuber. Nutritionally different (and indeed better) than regular white potatoes but still potatoes. Yam is a white woody root- the name alone is what's been misapplied.

Reminds me that plants are sentient beings. Used to have vine plants in my yard. When they got to the point of being long enough to start climbing... the little vine arms/branches would follow me and turn my direction. As if they were trying to grab ahold me in order anchor and begin their ascension of vine twisting. Their movement reminded me of the way copper dowel rods swung in the direction of energy.

Fun Emmy fact coming up! A lot of people notice the face she made during the tasting looking as if it wasnt as pleasant as she described, right? Well, in one of her videos (a hard times meal video i believe thats about feeding a numerous ammount of people woth ramen noodles!) she actually says that she is not a big fan of saltiness! :) dor example she would only use a half packet of ramen noodle flavoring in her noodles due to the saltiness of it. :D so while it's not necessarily that it tastes BAD, it just isnt a personal fan favorite taste to have basically a ton of salt in her mouth! :3 i love that even though that isn't her favorite thing, she still makes this out to be such a delightful treat!
