Back before the sail update, I ran with Ghost Captain sails. The biggest compliment I got was, “I know what those sails mean.” Every now and then I’d get accused of cannon aimbotting and I’d just say thank you. Nowadays I run the X Marks the Spot sails

Personally i am "the fisherman who already caught all fishies and desided to boost up his pvp skills" Not that commonly seen in the hourglass but usually very well prepaired, does have enought skill and knowledge to probably sink you, depending on if he manages to both gain the upper hand and capitalize on it, it may take time for him to get there tho, but he has the patience to fight to the last plank

Forgot those who board and camp while sailing you OoB (Out of Bounds) for the win. I can easily see these falling into the TDMers & Board-heavy players, but can also fall into any of the other categories depending

I meannnn double gunning is still a very viable option, most double gunners hate swords because of their outrageous reach and stun locks. Double gunning is factually harder than using a sword, mastered the sword in less than a session using it. If anything double gunners are stereotyped as ‘toxic sweats’ by nature, and are arguably treated badly for it more often.

Considering how there is the upcoming Season 12 Update that'll add Double-barrel Pistol & Throwing Knives, it will be interesting to see how that'll shake up the PvP Meta. Same goes for the Grapple Gun allegedly coming in Season 14

Have you got any advice for a cannoneer who cannot fight hand-to-hand? I’m the cannoneer on my crew, and I cannot board during beneficial times because I can’t fight hand-to-hand. I’m quite good at cannons, to the point where my teammate forces me to go on cannons because he knows my skill, if that makes sense. After a long time of not playing the game, I returned and went on 4 wins undefeated because my cannon skill, yet I cannot finish them off quick because I’m too scared to board and most likely die. It’s so frustrating having good cannons, but I know I need to improve my tdm if I want to progress to the next level of skill.

ok first being scared to board and not boarding is the worst you can do.Even if your scared you need to board because you won’t get anywhere near good at pvp combat if you don’t shoot out and risk it. Second jt depends what type of pvp you want to do for example using sword and blunder for pvp is a lot easier to use and learn than to use sniper and pistol, so you need to find what weapon combo you like and want to use and once you find it then you need to get to close pvp weapon combat as much as you can

then over time you will eventually become good after trying and trying. Another thing to focus is your key binds and your sense and once again find what gets fits you

@@zootique987 it doesn’t really suit me, but I have no other choice in this meta. I’m using blunderbuss sniper, so I’ll practice that. I’m a chess player as well, and I like to analyse my mistakes and improve my play, which is why I believe doing just practice will help the most since the only reason I am good at everything but hand-to-hand combat is because I haven’t had the chance to analyse my playstyle etc Thanks for the guidance

no tdmer raises their sails while shooting out?? you put your boat in a spin, shoot out together and if you both make it on alive just drive them out or to the nearest fort for a keg, if one person dies you just anch them while the person that died drives over the ship to demast, shoot 3 holes and then come over for the camp.
