Tip I got a few years back. Deflate is the last thing you do before getting off the matt. Open the valve lying on it. Let the air out by body weight. Get loads out in a very relaxing way.
@aaronmitchelluk2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the hole on this is pretty big and the air comes out very quick. It's certainly one way of forcing you to get out of bed in the morning!

Hey, little tip to improve longevity of your mat. Don’t blow directly into the sack when inflating. This will mix your moist breath with fresh air around you so your mat will collect less moisture over time. Also this speeds up the inflation of the pump sack as your breath pushes surrounding air in as well (as mentioned before) Another thing. I had a failure of my valve on the old model. Since then I learned that S2S recommends leaving the valve open when storing the mat. Might consider doing so as well.

Thanks for the review. Very helpful. Cold isn’t a thing. It’s just lack of heat. So the cold doesn’t come up. It’s all about keeping the heat reflecting towards your body and not leaching into the ground.

I have one and i love it! I bought the woman's. Very comfy, the insulation is pretty good. Really fast to inflate with the Sea to Summit sack that comes with the pad. Packs very small in the bag. I use it all year round. In winter, when it's pretty cold, i put a Therm-a -Rest Z-Lite underneath and it work well for now. Not sure if i will upgrade for a Therm-a-Rest, the one that sweeks like a potato chips bags lolll! Overall, for my actual needs, it's a great choice, very happy with it

Happy days. Yeah I can't stand noisy mats. Glad you're happy with yours. I've had mine out a few times recently when we had the cold spell and it held up real well. Money well spent. All the best.

I just bought the comfort light version of this pad. I have been sleeping on thin foam pads (like the therm a rest z lite or the trangoworld light plus) for 20 years now and never wanted to switch to air pads. But I guess I'm getting old because I was sleeping worse and worse. So I got a really comfortable pad. These do weight quite a bit more than foam pads, but sleeping well on a multi day trip is much more important than a light pack. Can't wait to test the pad this weekend.

@chaleco824 ай бұрын
@@crystalhuebner5713 what I do and it works all the time is that I roll it from the bottom up moving all the air towards the valve. Then I open the valve to release the air and closed it tight. Now I strech the fully deflated mat and fold it in three and begin to roll again. When I reach the top I still have some air inside, I release it and I end up with a small roll that fits easily in my bag.

Super Aaron, tough enough hike but covered 170k over 7 days and came home in one piece.. gear wise, all the gear worked well except my boots. I had a couple of long distance hikes at home with no problems but got blisters on the TMB so had to deal with that as best you can.. Highly recommend this route to all hikers and time of year for doing it. 👍

This is a tough one. I think if you were going off the measurements it would be the next size up. The reason I can get away with it is how I sleep on my side in a foetal position so I'm not out stretched. Might be worth bearing that one in mind.

@mheuuj9 ай бұрын
Sorry mate but there is no such thing as "reflecting cold". The insulating properties of this layer comes solely from reflecting radiated energy from your body, under the form of long wavelength IR radiation. You can't reflect the absence of that energy. In other words, you can't reflect "cold".
