Well said! This kind of cooking is made with lots of pepper! Thats the authentic version. Why 'Westernise' it? If you don't like pepper, don't add it, but don't ask to leave it out of a recipe.

I love your videos! Thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge with us. I live with a Nigerian and have had to learn how to cook his favourite Yuraba dishes over the years. As a white woman who grew up eating a very Western diet, it has taken many years and many lessons with my wonderful Sister-in-law to be able to cook certain dishes. Your videos are so easy to follow and the dishes are quick and easy but still manage to taste authentic, even when made by a white non Yuraba person. xx

When you mentioned kids eating, I thought that you were going to boned both the cat fish and red snapper fish. ( these fishes in particular, have lots of sharp threatening bones). The shrimps are half cooked/ smoked, they don’t need to stay that long on cooking, the jumbo shrimps too. I thought you were going to remove the fish, boned them, set aside, along with the shrimps, and add them at the last minutes of cooking, allow the okra to cook a bit longer, since you added all that water in the blender ( about adding pepper, someone made the comment, it’s not quite necessary, could be added to your taste when eating ) Okra is a highly healthy, but delicate meal. Precautions is highly needed when preparing it with fresh and dry fish, ( one could easily get a bone stuck down in their throat when eating). Thank you for sharing, it looks delicious. I am very much interested in what you added in for the green color, I usually use soda. I will look for it in the African store in my town. Please do not feel offended, I was just giving my opinion. Besides, everyone cooks differently ☺️
