This is a Seagate ST3000DM001. It has the worst track record of any drive I've ever worked with in my 20 years of IT work. Photo of the carnage inside: t.co/6mHYA66E6b

That is maybe the number one thing you never want to hear while using a computer. Hope it was backed up.

I've been getting these vids like 500 times in a row and now I know that Seagates are the HDDs I should get. Thank you 💯

Like the support service said to me, " Had you try shutting it down and booting it up bak again?" I did that and it stayed the same :(

Am always asking my self is the « beeping noise » mecanical like the motor of the disk or is it a buzing sound like motherboard beeping code ?
@rubenphonecollector25333 жыл бұрын
@@amau12 thx dude i also wondered for so long!
@alexwang0073 жыл бұрын
Yep, and more specifically It is the sound of the read head oscillating at a very high frequency, as there is no mechanical contact that would generate such a distinct sound. (The read head is driven by a voice coil motor, sits on two ball bearings, and floats on top of the platters via hydrodynamic bearing action from the high speed air)

Sucks when a large drive like this fails, but it really doesn't surprise me that it's a seagate
@ArtisChronicles3 жыл бұрын
Even though they have a bad reputation, they apparently have roughly the same failure rate as western digital
