Followed to a T. Turned pump on for 2-3 minutes no water pumping but started smelling like old rubber tires. Went a got water and poured into strainer basket and restarted pump. Pumps great but now leak water at pump shaft entry to seal. Spose I smoked the seal and didn't think I needed to prime it to get it going.

Excellent video. I'm curious about the bronze bushing in the diffuser (assuming it's bronze). I usually see them used as sleeve bearings with metal to metal contact but this one doesn't make contact with the impeller. Just curious why it is not made of the same material that the impeller is made of?

I noticed the insert in the diffuser fell out when I removed the diffuser. Is this an issue? Can I just place it back in? Thanks.

just a odd question. you would only replace this tune up kit if you had a leak going on correct ????

Why no lube on seal plate gasket ? In other videos you use silicone lube around seal plate gasket. This is confusing.

My Guick-kit doesn't have a square housing square gasket, its round?

What is the magic tool he picks up at 4:49 that removes the locking screw ? Phillips head ? Flat head ? socket driver ? If anyone knows and knows the size it would really help me. In real life you are looking into a wet black hole trying to see what that is holding the impeller to the shaft.

This is a standard 5/16" left-hand threaded bolt. Can use a socket or a flathead to remove.

You did not show how the shaft seal could be put in backwards.

I agree. I just finished rebuilding my Pentair challenger 2hp with this seal kit and I had to look very closely at your video for the orientation of the two shaft seals. I think I matched the narrator's orientation. Maybe it can work either way? It would be great if you could add an annotation or note in the video to clarify.

@@TannerFrisby me podrias alludar tengo exactamente la misma bomba en mi pisina y es un dolor de cabeza porque jala muy poca agua y no se si seran las uniones en la tuberia que jalan aire o que dentro de la bomba tenga basura atorada y la tenga que desarmar en las instrucciones decia ser una bomba con un caudal de 600 litros de agua por minuto mucha presion pero no mueve ni 100 litros en un minuto y una presion muy baja tiene que apenas y mueve algo de agua
