Seal Rescued From Plastic Rope

This plastic rope entanglement originates from a veggie bag. Veggie bags are made of plastic, so they do not degrade easily and cause a lot of harm to any animal entangled in them. Veggie bags are popular in Namibia and all over the world. We were lucky that the seal was weakened by the plastic rope and couldn’t run very fast. Otherwise, she would have gotten away before we caught up to her.

What an excellent nab! It looked almost choreographed! Partially due to [unfirtunately] _way_ too much practice over the years... But didn't she have a _lot_ to say to Naude after her release! I don't think there was a kind word in it! She'll feel bad about it later when she realizes that your effort was to help not humiliate...

Our efforts are just a drop in the bucket compared to the millions of tonnes of trash entering the world's oceans every year. We are unfortunately not solving the problem, but only treating the symptoms of the plastic crisis with our rescues. These videos aim to show the consequences of this pollution and create a change to tackle its roots - namely our addiction to single-use plastics, the lack of law enforcement at sea, and the shortcomings of the recycling industry.

I understand that you may require me to be part of the team. If someone else paddles the kayak that at the very end when you jump out to catch the seal,I can bring the kayak onto the sand. I can cut the tag and burst into tears. Maybe after giving the seal a cwtch I will let it go into the sea . Yes, I will still be in tears.. please remember that I applied for this job first.❤❤
