The hollow knight is one of the saddest gaming characters I think. He had dream nail dialogue before it got cut, that said “Do not think. Do not feel.” Which is just so sad. He knew he wasn’t perfect but still tried everything he could to be hollow. And then when he is corrupted, he fights with every last ounce of strength to end himself, stabbing his stomach repeatedly. Sad bro

I was listening to this soundtrack today and thought to myself, “man I kinda want to learn sealed vessel on piano.” And then you drop this bomb.

I- you know what? I can't even comprehend how good this is. Literally my second favorite hollow knight song and it's so amazing, I've got to learn at least the melody and memorize it on the piano.

This song is by far my favorite track in Hollow Knight. Perhaps even my favorite video game song, period. And that’s saying something, I listen to a lot of game OSTs. Nothing else boasts the emotional weight and force of every note, like a struggle against an impossible battle that you can’t walk away from alive, yet you know you have to keep fighting. Such an epic juxtaposition to THE Hollow Knight, a being meant to be entirely devoid of emotion. The song alone is enough to tell you they never stood a chance against the Radiance, it could command fear and suffering from an inanimate object. This is the theme of the Radiance, the Infection, a being nothing could ever truly stop. Until you.

I love how this music portrays the emotions throughout the fight and tells the story. The intense feelings of the start of the fight when the player has to fight the Hollow Knight, and the transition into the sad and cold sounding chords of the second phase that speak the story of the Hollow Knight’s past, and that the Hollow Knight isn’t really the big bad final boss, but what lies inside him is what truly has caused the plague.

I love these videos, not just to listen to the music, but also they seem like excellent tools to try to learn piano. I love imagining what it would be like to play this myself, and while I am familiar with the guitar hero concept, that doesn't mean I've ever been any good at it. I sometimes mime piano keys while I watch or listen to this channel, and THIS video not only showed that I was ridiculously wrong, but what the actual positions of the hand are, which fingers are hitting which keys, the traveling of the hand, even motions for rapid notes, IN ADDITION to the video showing which keys to hit in the first place! THIS is the brain hack to get someone to play piano, it'll still take lots of practice to learn those movements and the coordination to pull it off, but it literally has the correct movements on screen to pause, slow down, rewind, whatever to help you out. My eyes were glued to his hands the entire video. I love your channel and wish you all the success in the world, and would deeply appreciate adopting this style going forward. This was really well done, good job! Hollow knight is one of my favourite games out there, and this is probably one of my favourite pieces, next to Hive Knight and Nightmare King.

Jeez... I've been waiting for this for... Frankly a long time. Rarely do I get chocked up with emotion but Hollow Knight is one of the few game that truly got me *invested* and *captivated* and *awed.* I wish I could go back to the day I discovered it so that I could play it for the first time all over again. This masterpiece crafted with all the love and attention only indie developers can truly give. This game had a *soul* and a *heart* that few games ever had. This somber melody harbinger of fatality the culmination of a lie centuries old. This tune makes my heart shiver and my soul sing. Jeez I sound so sappy right now but hey what can I say about a game that deserves all the love I am showering it with. Video games have truly managed to connect with those musical strings on my soul and I wouldn't have it any other way!

I actually play The Hollow Knight without sound and just music. The boss at least. And to hear the piano version is absolutely magical.

This song gave such a different feeling compared to the broken vessel, broken vessel is sad and also gave a feeling that it is already close to breaking, while the sealed vessel gave a feeling that although controlled by radiance, it still had the power to defeat anyone in its path, and was still trying to control his power. I've played a different arragement of Sealed Vessel on my channe, and in comparison your arrangement sounds much more energetic and grand in the first phase, and the second phase and ending are really cleanly arranged! Fantastic job as always SMB.

This is my favourite music of this game, because you think this is going to be your final challenge and all you did prepared for this fight, something that the 1st part of the music builds up to it, but nothing in the game could ever prepared you for this fight because the one you think is your enemy in reality is your ally and when you notice, especially with the change of tempo of the music, a part of you doesn't want to finish the deed, but another also wants to finish it, not because you just want to kill but because you noticed the pain of your adversary and who the real enemy is. Great job at playing the music.

My friend played this piece at a concert and the whole crowd reacted to how emotionally beautiful this piece was and I could only think that if the crowd reacted like that without knowing the story of the game then what would would it be like if they did. This piece is a mix of hope, tragedy and remorse and one of the most beautiful things I've heard in a long time.

Absolutely amazing arrangement, I’ve spent months learning and practicing it and just yesterday I performed it at my school student showcase and I nailed it, filled the whole room with the melodies of tragedy.

A lot of the emotion this piece has is the result of the climax of the music be at the start, and building down from there. It’s the opposite of most pieces, but it exemplifies the sense of sorrow, regret, loss, and failure of a hopeless fight still fought. At the end, all of the intensity is gone, but the sorrowful chords are gone too, leaving you with a feeling of emptiness. The battle is won, the evil is defeated, but the intensity and what was fought for was lost.

man i love hollowknight so much. i can hear the slashes and cries during the fight of this piece, and in others like greenpath and fungal wastes i can hear the little critters scuttling about and the mushrooms spurting out gases. the game leaves such a lasting impression that i dont think i could ever enjoy a first time expierence of exploring a world such as hallownest the same way again
