I've wanted to get into bookbinding for a while, but I have rheumatoid arthritis, so I have to be careful with my hands. I know this isn't the oldschool, "proper" way of doing it, but you made it sound like it was pretty easy on your hands - not as much grip strength required as you're used to, and it still more or less got the job done. I've got hope I can still get into bookbinding with this family of products. I didn't know they existed and would have hesitated to try them myself, so thank you!!

Please don't apologize for your "old school" tutorials, you're so incredible and have been so educational and so clear for so long that I feel like it's important for your new fans to realize why it is that so many of us love and adore you and follow you! Thank you for testing this tool. Because I learned from you, I think I'll continue to just do it your way! :D

Tip from other videos: Use a sharpie to mark your holes on the clear part. Some hand sanitizer and a q-tip will remove the marker when done.

Oh man, the old-school videos!!!! I just went back to watch some of them, they were THE BEST, I got all misty-eyed! :) And that music! Really, really loved the early days so much. Those videos were what made me fall in love with your channel and I've been around ever since. Who needs some tools when we've got your fabulous book-binding videos! :)

Me too! I took bookbinding classes at my local library, and they rushed the stitching parts so much, I searched for videos. SeaLemon featured the clearest, most straightforward demonstrations of bindings I found! Plus she was so relaxing and soothing in her presentation:-) I recommended them to everybody in class!

Man your "old school" videos saved my butt in highschool, I'd use your book binding videos to make over the top projects and in my sophmore year it was a requirement to make our own books for photography and I didn't understand the teacher's instuctions so for me your videos have not only saves my grades but entertained me and helped me explore things I would have never thought of as fun hobbies, thank you :-)

Happy to see you review this tool. I bought this when it first came out. Love it. I’ve made lots of little notebooks (nice paper with cardstock covered) for me to carry, for others too. In a diy make do with what you have approach I used dental floss to stitch a booklet, worked great!

I recently got this so I’d have an easy to use book cradle without having to make one, and used it for two different signatures of a junk journal I’m working on. The pouch with the needles and thread also holds a bone folder I bought for the project. And all of them fit nicely together with the board. They pack up in a fairly small space. Very easy and efficient to use. Just remember if you’re pulling a needle and thread through a LOT of pages, use pliers or your fingertips will be sooooore! 😂😭

I love your videos and they are what got me into book bonding about 12 years ago. What I love about book binding is all I need is thread, paper, a lump of beeswax, a ruler. I suffered a stroke a year ago but thankfully am still able to thread a needle and sew so binding books has been my saving grace. Thank you Jennifer, I love your voice 📚

I have been on a journey with this tool. Purchasing We R Memory Keepers Bookbinding Guide, led me to your channel. Not because of this review (as you had not published it at that stage), but moreso to learn about bookbinding. Sure, this tool helped me to punch holes...but I wanted to know more than their instruction booklet provided. So, I searched KZfaq and found you. As a beginner, I had no idea about the tools I would need. I saw this Bookbinding Guide and took a gamble thinking, I don't know if this will be helpful. It looked like it would be helpful but I really had no idea about anything book-related. I just felt like I needed to buy it and so I did. I used it twice then, put it in my drawer. It wasn't because the product was no good, it was more because I was inexperienced and, I didn't fully understand how to use the tool, or appreciate the assistance it gave. So, I went through a period of leaving it in my drawer and just eyeballing and poking holes. This of course was not very satisfactory but I was just learning and so, kind of put up with crooked lines and subsequent uneven stitching. I've learn a lot in that time and when I was making my last journal, I decided to unearth and reuse the tool. And, it worked like an absolute charm. Strangely, though I have watched many of your videos, I had not seen this one until today. There were times (when the tool was in my drawer) that I was wondering if I'd made the right decision in purchasing the tool. Recently reusing the tool confirmed that it was a very worthwhile purchase. Watching this video absolutely sealed the deal and, will help other newbies to understand and appreciate its value.
