In lore, I think the rarest set title goes either to the Rubber Armor or the Zora Armor. Rubber, as a material, no longer exists in Hyrule. The set couldn't be replicated even if they wanted to. Zora armor is presumed to be made of dragon scale, and is only given to those with the true trust of the Zora. It would still be able to be crafted in the game setting, but VERY difficult.

Actually the Zora set is bassicly an engagement ring for Zora princesses to give to their lovers. (Mipha made one for Link,the one we use is BoTW and ToTk,if you like climbing waterfalls you can thank Mipha)

Right? At one point, after I had all the lightroots turned on, I just flew around the depths looking for groves, mines, colleseums, and skeletons. Found almost everything that way in just a few hours.

Fun fact: The Ancient Hero’s Aspect armor does have a blinking animation, but it was never properly implemented. (Found this out after looking into its extracted model online, so I could be wrong)

The Uploader for the model mentioned there were no changes to the model, just a decompiled version that can be opened properly in blender.exe. I also found what could be the hero's name: "...Link_RaulSkin_Monyou_B_Dm_Alb.png" "Raul" is likely referring to Rauru, as used in the Italian Translation. And "Monyou" shows up frequently in the material files. I have not found any mentioning of this anywhere else online, so please fact check this (if you can) in your own time.

I only found out about the maps that reveal the Xs in the depths when there was only a few pieces of armor left to find because I explored so much of it before the sky islands because wanted to get the full twilight set and kept searching the depths for pieces

I got a couple of the maps and paid no mind whatsoever to them and didn't even notice the Xes until after I'd discovered a bunch of the chests near where I dropped down. The Xes were all in far ends of the map where I hadn't even properly explored the Surface yet

You don't actually need the old maps, just look for forests on the surface map and go to that point below to find the equivalent "Grove of..." where a chest with an amiibo item will be inside a huge hollow tree stump

I'm pretty sure the Ancient Hero is a Ganon-Zonai hybrid that was influenced by Rauru's power while he was sealing away the Demon King, it being the only incarnation of Ganondorf that turned good to fight against himself

I’m like 99% sure it’s not supposed to be a zonai. There’s too many differences for it to be accidental. Its ears are too small and they’re the color of its skin, not its hair like rauru and mineru, it has a tail and backwards-jointed feet, which neither of them have, its eyes are solid blue with no sclera, it has actual eyebrows and it doesn’t have the big eyelashes or a third eye, unless it’s underneath that suspiciously ganondorf-esque forehead gem. It might be a half-zonai, since we do know at least one zonai married a hylian, but that wouldn’t explain the tail or the feet.

I think it would probably be majoras mask- it is easy to find but depending on your skill it can be really hard to fight 5 Lynels in a row including one armored lynel

On my first playthrough, I found many of them without the maps. My second run, which has been accompanied by more experience, bravado, and an overall different route, has led to me exploring some places more thoroughly and earlier than before, almost like a reverse of my previous run, thus granting me more map locations collect instead of the "you already found it" message.

Im pretty sure The Ancient Hero Aspect armor is supposed to look like the " Link" in the Mural from BOTW. Its why the Link in that mural looked weird and kinda looked like a hairy monkey.

The hero set could be sooo fun especially if had a better head and tail. The colors / skin texture could be better to, like he supposed to be fluffy or smooth bc he kinda looks like a Xoloitzcuintle right now. The makings / tattoos too makes it worse especially the face ones. My first thought when I got it was that it was supposed to be a zonai/ hylian hybrid but if you look twice it’s obviously not. A hybrid showing us what Rauru and Sonia’s children could have looked like would have been so cool.

Isn't thare a peice of armor in the games code that makes links bionic arm normal? Its used in the beginning underneath hyrule castle. So technically its the hardest armor to obtain because no player can have it in their inventory without cheating.

Actually amiibo sets can be all done without an online map or an old map. You can just look for big tree trunks in groves (always under big forests) or chests in abandoned mines (usually on named mountain peaks) or the mouths of big skeletons (under big skeletong i guess).

Hi, this is coming from someone who has every armor set in the game with them all max stars, The Wild Set. The armor set that you get for all 120 shrines in Breath of The Wild. You have to go to the dragon skeletons in the depths, each of which are guarded and quite dangerous if you aren't late game. Also upgrading them is an absolute hell of a task due to the dragon parts needed. If you don't have the game in a version that you can dupe in it's going to take you a long time. Edit: Second hardest is the Phantom Ganon / Evil Spirit set. Way too hard and not even worth it.

A better question is, which armor set is the rarest to have maxed. I discovered the full Zonai set late in the game, (it's not that hard to find honestly) but the biggest problem is that the items I need to upgrade it have become very rare due to them coming from weaker verions of the Zonai enemies. I wonder if this is common with other armor sets?

Ok so i am the only fucking person who went down into the depths at the start of the game, unlocked everything down there apart from bosses and was very confused when later finding the maps ?? Like fr the sky islands were the last part of the map that i explored.
